OMG! Theres a man in the ladies room.

Week before last while my wife and I were staying at the TA in New Braunfels,TX for the son's graduation at Lackland AFB something unusual went on at the TA. As we sat eating an early dinner in the restuarant, two females (or so we thought) came in and sat at the counter directly across from...

    I'm amazed!

OVM: You're killing me here! I was trying to shock everyone by saying something nice about my prior carrier. Tell me its not true!

let the attack on panther begin

NEWS FLASH!!! Streakn just said something nice about his previous carrier in another thread!!! There's hope for me yet! LOL I do have a nice side to me. In all fairness to the Newbies reading these forums, is it not better to provide them with both the good and not so good regarding...

    I'm amazed!

Thanks Steve, that answers my question. It sounds to me than in all fairness to the customer FECC does not pass any additional cost onto the customer for using two-three trucks to do the job of one. That keeps FECC competitively priced on the load and the customer still gets the quality service...

    I'm amazed!

I have to agree with you Phil. The FECC name is associated with QUALITY SERVICE. I feel this is why most customers call in the first place. Then when faced with a choice of breaking up an ER load to say 2-3 DR/CR units and possibly faced with having to pay a bit more since an ER is not availible...

let the attack on panther begin

Isn't that just part of human nature, for people to talk about the good and bad of their prior job along with the good and bad of their current job? Every trade I've ever worked in, people did the same as they do on this forum. Plus it always seems to lean one direction or the other with many...

    I'm amazed!

I was involved in simular situations when I was in our Dr and ER units. In the case of our DR unit, it was being one of two trucks transferring freight from an ER unit whos tractor broke down. Since the ER trailers are not owned by FECC, they could not make the owner allow them to repower the...

    I'm amazed!

Really? I'm not the only person that saw your response as an attack. Guess they're all dramatic to. LOL

    I'm amazed!

No Phil I have not. I would have expected a more professional response than that from you! You have chosen to turn this thread ugly, not me. Why? Do you have a problem with me? I simply came on and shared what people have approached us with and went so far as to ask for contact information. I...

    I'm amazed!

Steve: We are pulling a single step, not a double drop. We do not multi-bill exclusive use customers. We only carry one exclusive use customer on the deck at a time. They are paying for the full deck regardless of how much they are using. So you are correct, that would not be allowed. I'm...

    I'm amazed!

To be able to attach the trailer kinigpin (hitch) to the fifthwheel on the tractor, the upper deck has to clear the drive wheels on the tractor. Plus, every usable foot of deck spaceequals $$$, especially when we do multi-bill loads. We need all of the space we can get to get as many bills...

    I'm amazed!

If you look at my signature photo, you will notice my main deck is lower than a flatbed. There is 38' of lower deck to haul large engines and parts on. Then we have an upper deck 102"x120" that is the same height as a standard flatbed. The smaller freight is loaded there. This allows us carry...

    I'm amazed!

Phil, I'm glad to hear that your success continues in these un-stable economic times. I wish the people that have approached us (un-solicited on our part) were telling the same story. They are not. We are told that this has been going on since July. Plus, these are owners and drivers of larger...

    I'm amazed!

I agree TeamCaffee. Off course it is no secret why we left our previous carrier. It was much deeper than just less freight instead of more. But in the cases I've mentioned above, is it wiser to try and ride out the storm with the carrier you're with, or leave and go into an unknown just...

    I'm amazed!

We are amazed at the recent number of expediters from one of the better known carriers that have been approaching us and asking about leasing on to the carrier we are with. In the last several weeks we have been questioned by a half dozen or so and told they are looking to move their trucks to...

    Hauling oversized w/o permits

How do you haul a oversized load and not have to be permitted? You tilt it at an angle! As long as it does'nt exceed 102" in width, or stand taller than 13'-6" you're good to go. Check out the specially built container we just delivered to the west coast. It is used to haul aircraft parts...

    a little advise please

If you are really wanting a Kenworth I would strongly suggest the T-600 which KW stopped building after 2007, or the T-660 which replaced the T-600 in 2008. These KW's and the Kenworth T-2000 are much more aerodynamic than the W-900. The hoods allow for much more visibility especially when...

    Sacrifices for a Son

Yesterday was spent at Lackland watching the morning run of our Son's Squadron and later attending the celebrated Airman's Coin Exchange. Afterwards was the first time in almost two months that we were able to see and speak with him. My wife was first to congradulate him after the Coin Ceremony...

    Sacrifices for a Son

We to took time today at Lackland AFB to mourn the fallen Airmen from Lackland as we stood with our Airman Son and an Airman friend from his flight. Both are graduating this week. We went to the parade grounds to see the personalized stones commemorating fallen Airmen from the Viet Nam, Iraq...

    Sacrifices for a Son

About a week ago in a reply to another thread I shared that we would be spending our Thanksgiving at Lackland AFB attending our youngest son's graduation. Well in this un-stable economy and hit and miss freight so many have been experiencing lately, to be directional is not a good choice, or is...
