Question on fully self contained sleepers?

Our 132" ARI sleeper is equiped with a holding tank for wastewater from the toilet. It also has an optional grey water holding tank for showering. This is an option with our sleeper manufacturer and in my opinion worth the added expense. Many times after tarping our loads at the shipper we will...

During home time, how safe is your truck?

We were doing the truckstop thing for a while after our city code enforcement division stopped allowing us to park our truck at home about two years ago. Sadly, that wasn't a safe option so I stayed with the truck while my wife went to our house. As resently as this week, a driver from...

During home time, how safe is your truck?

This question is for those of us that cannot park our rigs in our yard while on home time or vacation. Where do you end up parking? In a nearby truckstop lot, a storage lot, a shopping center parking lot, an RV park, or other? Do you feel that as you drive away your truck will be safe until you...

To Those of You Still Standing

If you are failing at your current carrier, and we all know that can be for many reasons, then you need to seriously consider your options. Anotherwards, if your ship is sinking, jump ship! Your future as a business could very well depend on it. As an expediter of more than five years I speak...

Morals, religion, and accepting certain loads

Wingnut, I greatly admire and appreciate your choice and honesty regarding this subject. It is inspirational to see that someone is willing to stand on their beliefs and not compromise them for the almighty dollar.

The Good Times Thread.. or What are you thankful for?

I am thankful for the stepping stone FECC provided in helping qualify us for our current carrier in the trucking/expediting industry. By having hauled "high value" freight for five years that the White Glove Division handles daily, that helped greatly to qualify us in the handling and hauling...

Morals, religion, and accepting certain loads

Thats all I was trying to do is get the thoughts of others but when questioned as to the seriousness of the thread, I chose to pull it rather than start a ****ing match. Lord knows we have enough of that going around! LOL

Morals, religion, and accepting certain loads

For the record, we did not refuse to haul any of these commodities. We to were contracted to haul freight and have No problem hauling what we're asked to haul as long as its not illegal. All I was courious to know from the religious members of this group, how do they handle such issues.

Morals, religion, and accepting certain loads

Thread deleted as this is not an issue for us, plus the first reply to the thread questioned the seriousness of the thread.

What is the strangest load that you did as an expediter?

Hey Doggie Daddy, welcome to the world of aviation! We to had the pleasure of hauling smaller jet engines in our DR-unit when we were leased on with FECC. These typically were engines for Learjets. Without knowing the engine size and model you had onboard, its hard to say which amount that you...

    Must get a bigger one!

Jeez Doggy Daddy, now i'm envious cause yours is BIGGER than mine!! LOL. Not only that you have three instead of one. What do you do with three at a time?? That's OK. Mine's just the right size and works very well for us!! LOL :p ;)

    Must get a bigger one!

My wife wanted a bigger one. I on the otherhand was fine with the smaller one, or so I thought. She continued her quest for a bigger one until I finally agreed. After getting a bigger one, only then was I able to realized how much I was missing with the smaller one. Size does matter! Got your...

What is the strangest load that you did as an expediter?

Two JT-8 jet engines from a repocessed 737 corporate jet. Must be bad when your jet gets taken by the repo man! The jet was repoed by the bank, sent to Indy to be gone through and refurbished before being sold. The engines were taken off in Indy, shipped to Miami to a rebuild shop, and we...

    Panther sighting on Alligator Alley

Naw, we left the warmth of Florida Friday evening bound for Indy with a couple of engines going back to a repoed corporate 737 jet. We just got to the Flying J in Whiteland,IN where we'll stay the night and then deliver in the morning. It's 36 degees!!! After that we have an engine onboard to...

A day in the life of an aviation expediter

In this final photo one of the engines has been set on the ground between our truck and the cargo jet and a tray will be brought out to set it on. Note the jet taking off directly above the jet on the ground. its really interesting to be around the aircraft the way we are almost every day!

A day in the life of an aviation expediter

Below are two GE CFM-56 engines just loaded on our deck at GE in the Dallas/Fort Worth area bound for Chile. We delivered them to Miami International Airport to be loaded onto a cargo jet and flown to their final destination. Once arriving at MIA, airport security escorts us into the cargo...

    Panther sighting on Alligator Alley

Hey Falligator, when we were looking to leave the FED we were actually seriously considering leasing our ER unit on with the Black Cat. Afterall, we were seeing more and more black cats picking up the same freight at the same places we had been loading with the FED. Thought maybe it was a sign...

    Panther sighting on Alligator Alley

On Friday morning about 6:30 am a panther showed up and stopped in front of our T/T while we were parked at our favorite layover spot on Florida's Alligator Alley. Its the rest area at the 36 mm. Before I could get dressed and go outside, it was gone. I did see the driver get out of his...
