One Man Fight to Save the Expedited Trucking Industry

Is that why he lives in Mexico and only comes north for the occasional lawsuit? Or a wrassler.

Been stuck in an office for 26 years......

Good advice except the rented van won't be set up for expediting, no creature comforts. One 24 hour period in a car at either the J in Birmingham or West Memphis should set him straight.

Been stuck in an office for 26 years......

My advice would be bail out now! I did at age 42 and what I left wasn't an office job. Expediters are awake 24/7 and also sleep 24/7. Paradox?. You sleep when you can and stay awake when you can. It's not 9 to 5. It takes awhile but you adjust.

Do you have a breaker bar?

Excellent advice Xiggi! I have always carried a "cross" wrench with the 4 different size sockets. It worked well until a few years ago. Someone, somewhere along the line got a little overzealous when tightening the lug nuts. I was able to get them loose but rounded the corners on a few. Now...

    Bad truck or bad driver?

Only 80,000 miles on a van used in expediting and it needed a front brake job? Did the $600 include new rotors?

    Self-Driving Freightliner Licensed in Neveda

Truckmaker Freightliner's newest commercial big rig can steer and drive itself, while the driver relaxes and enjoys the ride. "Ninety percent of commercial truck accidents are due to driver error and one in eight of those are due to driver fatigue," states Freightliner head of Trucks and Buses...

Cargo Van Need opinions on van replacement

I'm not sure Ford messed up with the short wheelbase. I don't care for it, but I'm an expediter. Ford's target market is small package delivery and trades-persons where maneuverability is more of a concern than weight distribution.

Cargo Van Need opinions on van replacement

Bill, even with the airlift kit I would think a heavy pallet on the assend would cause some lateral sway. These Transits will require a little more thought when loading.
