Alot of companies will put out non-profit runs to their new people.
Usually because experienced drivers will turn them down. If they know you will take this type of load they will continue to offer them. Dispatchers will most often take the least path of resistance.
Know what it costs to run...
Why would the carrier charge the driver for a random test that they are requiring? Panther doesn't charge for random drug tests. Kinda like QC charges, it sounds like someone is getting a kickback.

As Glen mentioned, everyone has to find the company that fits them best. We are currently with Panther as a team in a straight truck and have been successful with them. I can't offer any real advise on how vans do with them. Their recruiters or drivers can answer most of that. They do keep you...
Expediting and general freight are two completely different businesses. It is like comparing McDonalds to Red Lobster. Both are in the food business but are ran completely different.
As for signs on the truck, don't put them on if you don't like them. I think fedex will let you do that if you...
I would be careful teaming a pup with a cabover. When that combo is empty expect to be bounced all over the place. Freightliner cabover is probably the smoothest ride on a cabover but there are much better options.

RE: Has a Dispatcher ever said anything rude to yo
In more cases than not, drivers don't know what the dispatchers job entails. Same goes for dispatchers. The majority have never been on the road or even sat in a truck.
Only in a rare case have we really had a rude dispatcher. I just hang up...
There was a previous post indicating there was a plan for wireless internet service for 30.00 a month. What company is offering that?
Sprint use to be $80.00 per month so 30.00 might not be bad if coverage is decent.
Might be better than wi-fi if connection speed is good.

One would need more information to give you a number. What condition, what size box and sleeper? Does it have a generator?
Depending on some of those items you could be anywhere from $15,000 to $25,000

There are numerous issues that could effect the out come. I would call OOIDA or your attorney. OOIDA can be found at www.ooida.com
They would be able to answer your basic legal questions.
Hope that helps

RE: FECC
I quess I am a skeptic when it comes to this kind of thing. I know of several people going broke with them in addition to one that did. Maybe you have to be at the right place at the right time? I don't know. When looking at the classifieds here, there are alot of folks looking for...
RE: Truth In Leasing ..was...RE: FECC "CONTEST"
Yes you are correct in that they must provide the complete bill upon request. Once you try that see how many runs and what types after that. Many will refuse to show it to you. We had a past experience with this and of course they failed to show...
Diane and I researched carriers extensively before we started over a year ago. Then and now, we have yet to find a carrier that pays more than FedEx CC over a meaningful period of time. There are carriers out there that can legitimately claim to pay as well, but none I know of can legitimately...
We use to have sprint but it was really slow. Currently using flying j wi-fi. Seems to work pretty good. They have updated alot of the cellular stuff so it might be better now. $30.00 unlimited sounds pretty good. What company is that?
