    Interesting Loads

Thats one of the few things I miss about our FECC days, getting to do the NASA loads such as the Mars lunar rovers and new test lenses for the Hubble telescope. But we since moved on to bigger and better things that only go into subspace! LOL Just did a run that had us pickup a good jet...

    Unbelievable trip to JFK Airport!!!

Deville, its great having someone like you on this forum to give me a laugh! But I can't help wondering if you are on drugs or something, cause you just don't get it, do you. You didn't answer any of the questions I posed to you because you know I'm right. Sir, I've not refused loads in or...

    Unbelievable trip to JFK Airport!!!

First of all Deville, learn how to spell. You are really showing your ignorance here. Next, are you also going to call Fox News/Shepard Smith's news report at 19:00 hrs yesterday bull****? You know the story about the pedicab and cab driver getting into a fist fight in the middle of Broadway...

    Unbelievable trip to JFK Airport!!!

We are in the process of designing a camera system on our truck for several uses. First, two looking back at the freight on our deck (each side) so that we can monitor securement and tarps between the routine safety stops we do. Secondly, to monitor and record any incidents regarding vehicles...

    Unbelievable trip to JFK Airport!!!

We try relaxing and watching our space. Just our space is much bigger, like almost 80' long and it takes a football field to turn around in!!! LOL Whats amazing is how the local drivers hit each others trucks and just keep driving like nothing happened. So, which of you FECC drivers were...

    Unbelievable trip to JFK Airport!!!

Its amazing that even though there was the NYPD cruiser sitting on the shoulder of the bridge (remember the one watching us all come out of the toll booths), he wasn't able to get through traffic stopped on the bridge quick enough before the little coward ran and hid in a sea of cars...

    Unbelievable trip to JFK Airport!!!

Right there with ya Moose! I probably would have gone ahead and moved over sooner if the cop hadn't been sitting right there on the shoulder watching everyone. But, you're not supposed to cross the solid lines. That cabby knows that, he just didn't care or understand why I held my ground. It...

    Unbelievable trip to JFK Airport!!!

As we were making our way to JFK in Jamaica,NY to deliver an engine Friday, our unbelievable trip began with an irrate NYC cabby pulling directly in front of our truck in the middle of the George Washington Bridge, then slamming on his brakes in an attempt to cause us to rear end him. Then he...

    OMG! Did it crash?

Hey Moose, no need for a blindfold here. I just drive with my eyes closed! LOL On the height of the main landing gear in the photo: it's in the fully collapsed position. That makes it 11.5' tall. If loaded onto our 42" high stepdeck it would have made our clearance 15' tall. Since this became...

    Computer Ban?

If this bill is passed it will not affect us in any way. Our Qual-comm is mounted (by our choice) behind the passenger seat on the wall in the forward sleeper. One of several things will happen if it beeps. Either we pull into the next rest area, truckstop, or safely off the interstate onto...

    OMG! Did it crash?

If there was a problem with posting these photos on the internet, they surely would not be. This was a non-security jobsite that I choose not to reveal. Typically I don't feel the need to every time I post a thread on any internet forum to name the location. In many cases it unimportant to the...

    OMG! Did it crash?

OK, heres the scoop. This jet was being scrapped out. The airframe no longer would pass FAA requirements, so it made its last flight here. Then the salvaging process began until the final stage which is scrapping. The track-hoe seen in the photo has a claw instead of a bucket. The claw is...

    OMG! Did it crash?

Now for you ex deck haulers and what nots out there, in looking at the photo of the landing gear, its obvious that it will have to be loaded standing up on the deck. So, if you were faced with the task of securing this piece safely and without damaging it, how would you do it? What would you do...

    OMG! Did it crash?

This past week we were dispatched to an undisclosed site to load a full set of landing gear off of a DC-10 cargo jet. The first photo below is one of the two main gear. When we arrived where we thought we were to load the gear, we were quickly told that no it was out on one of the runways...

    Truckstop showers

Reading this thread makes us reeeally appreciate having our own shower. Granted we were not always that fortunate! Twenty-five plus years of showering in a multitude of truck stop showers did bring on a few foot issues along the way. Thankfully nothing serious. Even in your own shower, be it...

Jet engine test run before release (photo)

Heres three JT-8 jet engines on our deck ready to unload at a rebuild shop. Note they are minus the aft (tail) sections. After rebuilding them, they will be shipped to an FAA approved test site and fired up before being hung on an awaiting aircraft.
