    Congratulations to each of you…..

I'm sorry but I must say those sound like weak reasons not to use your own shower IMOP. 1. Don't have to clean ... 2. Water supply... 3. Walls and floor... 4. 40 gallons... 5. Its shower and go... After each use of our shower I have a spray cleaner that I use that cleans and disinfects...

    Congratulations to each of you…..

That's not totally true. Yes for most if not all company and fleet drivers. No for those owner operators that are (like ourselves) fortunate enough to afford large sleeper trucks with on-board self contained shower facilities. The few inconvieniences (if they can even truely be considered that)...

    Another Life After FedExCC

Geez! So thats where I went wrong. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted ( the post that is)! LOL ;)

Large Carrier vs. Small Carrier: Thoughts?

I like that thought Greg. It makes me wonder why one is willing to allow their carrier to run their truck near empty on surface loads when they could be filling the box? When I think of the money per mile I used to be paid to haul a less than capacity surface loads in our 22' or 48' reefer...

Large Carrier vs. Small Carrier: Thoughts?

Oh soooo true! I wonder, when a large carrier has to lower its rates (our small carrier hasn't to date) so they can continue to compete with other carriers, could this have anything to do with the future stability of the carrier?

Large Carrier vs. Small Carrier: Thoughts?

Well said Dave! It does not take a purple haze to have the experiences and see the places as Phil speaks of. Small carriers can and do offer the same to their drivers. An example: this past week we had the privilege of hauling damaged engine pieces from a fully loaded passenger jet that...

Large Carrier vs. Small Carrier: Thoughts?

Let us not forget what Arrow Trucking (a large fleet) recently did to most all (if not all) of its drivers when they unexpectedly locked their doors and went out of business. Large fleet/small fleet it happens to drivers for both!

    Now be honest with yourself!

Be honest with your answer to the following question: When you log on and show your PTI for each day, do you truely check the brake shoes, drums, etc and the hub oil levels? Or do you assume that you will be fine if you do a visual inspection say once every other day? Now we all know what...

Large Carrier vs. Small Carrier: Thoughts?

I have to agree with your response to ATeam's comment. The small Mom & Pop carrier that we are currently leased to has a well established "National Reach" customer base that they service well, and do so with a average fleet size of 30-40 team trucks. Granted there are small carriers that run...

    Would you trust this shop?

For us T/As are just an oil change stop if we absolutely are down to the wire on an oil change. One thing we are adamant about, before our expensive truck goes into any shop, we first disuss the repair with the mechanic that will actually be doing the work on our truck. That is our terms. If...

    Would you trust this shop?

All they would see is an exact copy of this thread as you and I view it on the forum. I see no names present other than our aliases. Im the only one that would be outed as they have a photos of our truck on their wall in the chrome shop!

    Would you trust this shop?

I think now that there have been several responses to this thread, both positive and negative it would be a great idea to copy this thread and leave it in the suggestion box for the owner/management to read. What better input than this. What do you think folks. Do you want you comments and...

    Would you trust this shop?

The only time we have experienced what we believe to be overpricing of parts at this location was regarding the steering column universal joint. Any time we have had an "in stock" part used here, their prices have been comparable to their competitors like Petro, TA, Flying J Care, Speedco etc...

    Would you trust this shop?

Exactly my point Cheri! Danny's did not have to do anything, I'm just one customer, but they did. To loose my business would do nothing to hurt them financially. Yet they felt one customer is important enough to right a wrong so that customer will come back. Why? Maybe they care.

    Would you trust this shop?

Update: We spoke to management yesterday and were told that in the future when we provide our own "captured" Kenworth parts that Danny's would not normally have in their parts stock, we will no longer be charged the driver supplied parts surchange. We were told this policy had been placed in...

    Would you trust this shop?

Greg, Your comment is in no way a personal slam (or taken as such) because you chose to word it in a professional manner. That is appreciated! You are correct as there is in part emotion influencing our decision. That's not always a bad thing. As for the wash, regardless of their cost, we...

    Would you trust this shop?

Point well made. But, I did not state my policy is to give everyone three strikes, and I only stated that I was over charged once, that being for the universal joint. Are they taking advantage of their customers? Or are they using business practices that aren't the norm and badly thought out...

    Would you trust this shop?

Update: Although we were told there would be no manager in until Monday morning that had authority to do anything regarding our complaint, we learned there was in fact a general manager on duty (Sunday) that could. I arranged a meeting and my wife and I expressed our concerns and discontent with...

    Would you trust this shop?

Kenworth in Phoenix charges much more per hour on labor. They are next to impossible to get into for work on the weekend when we are typically laid over in Phoenix. At almost 80' long they are extremely hard to manuver around in and get out of with our trailer. We prefer locations where we can...

    Would you trust this shop?

As many have seen in my past post on this forum, I'm a VERY fair man and try very hard to give my fellow man/woman a second chance to redeem themselves. Maybe to the extreme at times. But as many here have also learned, I also have a point of no return. My method is simple. I give a "three...
