K9SearchDude; Welcome to the EO Forums. There are Expedite companies that do utilize solo drivers. Not every Expedite company uses teams only. Call the companies listed on the EO home page and inquire. Thanks, HotFr8Recruiter

    "Looking to get into expiditing"

Jon; There are literally millions of tips contained within the forums here at ExpeditersOnLine.com Take some time out to read some of the posts to get a really good feel for expediting. The "Newbies" forum might be a great place to start. EO also offers a series of Workshops throughout...

    Just passing through

The carrier you are leased onto must be a "Bonded Customs Carrier" in order for you to do such a move under load. Thanks, HotFr8recruiter

How do i know if response ..

Thanks Cheri - great point and I missed that, my bad. There will also be a "tag" line below each post with the poster's screen name, and usually what they do, ie... O/O - Straight truck leased to... or Senior Recruiter, or Moderator. To my knowledge, there are only two folks that do recruiting...

How do i know if response ..

You will know if the member posting is a Moderator or not by their profile. Otherwise, ask. I don't think there are folks out there posing as recruiters. It is good to speak with drivers from the companies you are interested in also. They can give you the "other side" of the company...

It's The End Of The World

Moot; Great post! Yours always are. I hate to be ignorant but what does the "p.o.s." adjective in your first post mean (when referring to about American made H.D motorcycles)? Just need to know what that adjective stands for, so the next time one of those people that ride those things...

    CDL Requirement for Class 8

Team Cozumel; That is correct - you would only need a Class B CDL to operate a "Stretched Tractor", provided you do not haul a trailer behind that vehicle, where the trailer has GVW exceeding 10,000 lbs. Viva Riviera Maya! Thanks, HotFr8 John

    occupational health ins.

rts0073; Occupational Accident Insurance is NOT Worker's Comp. It is insurance coverage that protects you in the same areas as Worker's Comp., but at a fixed cost per month rather than the general "percentage of pay" method used by many states. It is not required in DOT regulations that I...

Authority Issues, I know I have them

DougTravels; I found your post very entertaining and somewhat helpful - more of the first than the latter. Freedom of speech is granted to you by our constitution. Please feel free to exercise that right as you see fit, but not on someone else's property. This website is not public...

    how far back

RTS0073; Great questions. The DOT regulations stipulate that if the driver operates a Commercial Motor Vehicle (by definition a vehicle with Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, or is 3 axles or more) the driver must list 10 years employment history on his or her...

    Help?

Hondo; Surely there will always be fleet owners seeking solo drivers. Not all expedite companies utilize team trucks only. The availability of these positions may be less frequent. Thanks, HotFr8Recruiter

    Poor Lions

LayoutShooter; Now we all know why you hunt ducks in Brest Bay and near Lake Erie Metro Park on Sunday afternoons - no sense in wasting your time watching the Lions on TV. Don't scare all the fish away! Thanks, HotFr8Recruiter

    Dac

DAC is a database of a driver's employment history. It is a tool used by many carriers to quickly view a prospective applicant's (for a driving position) employment history in driving positions. The report shows each (DAC) participating carrier that the applicant has driven for. Under each...

    Courier Service

Arkjarhead; Forget the specifics of the term "Courier Service" and look at specific requirements for a "Carrier" on FMCSA webiste. Courier Service, Expediter, Truckload Reefer Hauler.... all are "Carriers". Vehicle size does come into play on certain parts of the Regulations and permitting...

How Do You Remove Graffiti From a Truck?

Phil; I also enjoyed Leo's response. Bolt-cutters vs. fingers (if you ever catch the culprit) would be the solution for me if the opportunity presented itself. Thanks, John Oops - HotFr8Recruiter
