    ELD''s in cargo/sprinter vans

Ok, it's Thursday. A HM load comes up. The odds that your hours were Compliant the previous seven days, while you ran HOS exempt, are slim. Can you even run that load ? Will HM be more straight truck friendly ? I always enjoyed those 100 lb loads at $2 per mile.

    ELD''s in cargo/sprinter vans

As soon as the insurance companies realize it may offer them some protection, they may become required by many carriers. Does Fedex or Panther require them yet ?

    Touchdown or Touchback ???

Boy, did the Jets get robbed ! If you didn't see it, and you're a football fan, you'll hear about it for days. One of those rare, lucky breaks for the Pats.

Who rides with you? Puppy, cat? Monkey?

That's why Hugh Hefner did a Lawrence M move....Left expediting and went into publishing.

Who rides with you? Puppy, cat? Monkey?

I once rode with a monkey. He ended up buying his own truck.

Cargo van rate per mile under your own authority

The only "crap" answer I see is the fudge packing reference, which is OK because we're here to get educated and also have fun. Go back to drinking the koolade, I'll pour another VO.

    Yeah, I know...... .....I shouldn't encourage drinking.

Cargo van rate per mile under your own authority

You should get $3.00 per mile. Broker it to a carrier at $2.00 per mile. He'll pay a van .85 per mile. You can sit on a barstool and book loads. The money will flow in so fast you won't know how to spend it fast enough. And you'll drink top shelf.

I had a neighbor whose business model was to have his drivers steal fuel . That doesn't make it right.

How many miles are too many ? A class 8, with decent maintenance can go 1.5 million. I know an O/O with over 3 million. I bet there's 25 people on here that have driven trucks at or near a million miles.

Greg, this discussion is probably too far off topic, and of no concern to the OP. Maybe a good debate thread for a day I have more time.

Greg, with you owning the truck, you are an independent contractor. But if you buy a second truck and put a driver in it, why should he be an I/C ? Particularly for those that have owners that micro-manage. Sure , you don't want to pay the employer's share of the taxes. You don't want to pay...

Pros and cons of camper hauling vs straight truck expediter

I would think the RV's may be a better option because of the freedom allowed. The ability to load at your convenience, if there is a relatively constant available freight I guess would be huge. So much hit or miss in expediting. And loads going away from home when you you want/need to be...

GMC Truck GMC C6C042 any good?

Thank You. You seem pretty smart too. You'll just learn there's no short cuts. This game takes smarts, patience, some luck helps. Very few get rich quickly. Be straight with people, treat your drivers well, run a good operation, and it'll come. Most people can buy trucks. It takes more...
