    Hello March, where ya at

    Hello March, where ya at

Have to add a bit of info. I parked 10 min away from delivery last night and slept about 9 hours. On this load I have 24 hours to drive 800 miles, so plenty hours for sleep. One thing I will not do. I will not drive tired. If I need to sleep I will be oos and will only take a load when I am rested.

    Hello March, where ya at

I love LIFO. After delivery just pulled in to Walmart, didn't even finish doing my necessities and I got another load picking up at noon in Chicagoland. Showed up at 10 and it was ready. Now NC bound. Feels like the good ol' days when I used to put myself out of service so I could sleep.

    Moving up...

When I moved up to a tractor Fedex CC required a road test at one of their approved schools. That took care of the lack of experience. After a few months I moved back down to my trusty Sprinter.

    Hello March, where ya at

I spent my week and a half when I was stuck at home wisely and did my taxes. Got a good size refund direct deposited into the bank. Now the question is, what to do with all that money? I could put down 10% on that brand spanking new Sprinter, ride in style, be stressed out and work like a slave...

advantages and disadvantages of staying under 26,000 pounds

The only advantage is that you don't have to worry about IFTA. Just fill up wherever is the cheapest pump price. If you drive a vehicle over 26k you have to buy fuel where your cost is cheaper, and that is not where the pump price is cheaper. A little more calculation, that's all.

    Made in USA Sprinters

From what I read hear and there, the process of dis-assembling the Sprinters in Holland and re-assembling them in South Carolina adds about 7% to the price of the Sprinter. If they build them here they can either sell them at 7% less and be more competitive with the other vans, or sell them at...

    Hello March, where ya at

I passed that Discount Tire in Baytown yesterday. If you think TX tax is high don't shop in AL or TN. At least TN doesn't have state income tax.

    Glass cleaner

Greasytshirt, my wife uses vinegar to clean windows. It smells when she does it but I was surprised the first time she used it how quickly the smell disappeared. I really dislike the smell of vinegar, but it is no problem.

    Hello March, where ya at

Yesterday it was close to 80 degrees in Lake Charles. Today it was 32 when I left, and sleeting.

    ford transit connect

Right about 0. Most respected companies don't sign on even regular cargo vans any more. If you want to get in the expediting business you need a Sprinter type van.

    Frosty February 2015

Thank you Juju. I forgot about it altogether, my family apparently did also. No big deal anyway. Birthdays were important until I hit 21 I believe. After that they started to come by so quickly that I can't keep up any more. :o

If you want to make money, my suggestion is to stay in the straight. The market is over saturated with vans. If you want to chat pm me your phone number and I will call you.

    Frosty February 2015

Finally back in the grind. After 1 and 1/2 weeks of being stuck at home, I finally dug my van out. And Murray breaks me in gently with a KY to TN load. After all this time off I almost forgot how to expedite. :)
