    What's up w/ panther

It can if you have the right trucks. We have a couple of KW's I am considering this on. Wouldn't be worth it on our last Sterling as they stopped making them.

    What's up w/ panther

Every little bit helps. There will likely be another increase in equipment in 2017/ 2018 that will be noticeable. Yep, you guessed it. More high tech pollution stuff coming. Probably will do the bulk of my buying ahead of those years as it takes three years for manufacturers to get anything...

    What's up w/ panther

OMG, isn't that the truth. Straights that I bought in 07 were 100k to 110k. Flash forward to this year, and it is 150k to 160k. And with all the "save a tree" junk on them, the expense to operate one has climbed. The only value now is they get better fuel economy but that is about it. A lot of...

    What's up w/ panther

We had a 2012 FLT wipe out a fuel pump. Of course when that happens, they inform you with, "yes we have a upgrade for that year because we have had so many of them go bad". Rather than tell you ahead of time, they wait until it quits. Just another reason of many as to why you can't run around...

Detroit decay via Google Street view.

Nothing more than a confirmation that throwing billions of dollars at the "war on poverty" was a complete waste. Would have been better spent on retraining and new opportunities. Also seems to be a theme with these kinds of cities. They are for the most part, ran by democrats for years...

    The madness of Fergerson

Sure it is. Look at any state or federal budget. They are littered with all kinds of subsidy programs. They may not be able to compete, but the poorer areas that lack property tax revenue are subsidized by state and federal money. And in some cases depending on the location, busing is in full...

Are many retail jobs slowly coming to a end?

Sadly, many will price themselves right out of job. As competition and employee costs rise, it does nothing but make this technology more attractive. It will create jobs, but just for the ones that can fix & build the robots. The writing is on the wall.

    Dear Expediters, help

Outside of the insurance requirements, many carriers are going the route of requiring CDL's for van drivers. That is a potential problem in your situation if they have language barriers.

    The madness of Fergerson

You are entitled to that opinion. If the motive is to win an argument, then provide the facts that support your position and you will have the results you seek. If it is just your opinion, then you have to be open to others who may disagree. As some would say, "keep it pithy".

    Dear Expediters, help

In their eyes, they look at you like a carrier and would want them under your policy. Better to chase a carrier than a individual. They as I would also look at that and say, "Why not have the contractor set up with us directly as a partner carrier"? Of course the answer would be you want a cut...

    The madness of Fergerson

That was his opinion, and you can provide yours. Just keep it civil. That doesn't mean either one has to agree. You are putting too much effort into being offended. Opinions of others are not necessarily a "attack". There is a difference.

    Dear Expediters, help

Probably won't like my answer, but here goes. Many changes with regards to insurance are upon us. Carriers as well as shippers don't won't the exposure/liability of a under insured operator. Too many bad things have happened and the industry has woke up. The upside is it pushes out a lot of the...
