Just a comment about regristration .... it may be true with your own authority about liscensing it for less. However, Landstar WILL go by the GVW on the door, no matter what you call it. So it may be legal, but there's that pesky compliance department to contend with. (At Landstar anyway)

Ontarioman, do you have a link to the regulations that state any vehicle LESS than 10,000 pounds require logs? It may apply to Canadian based vans, but if they comply with the the agreed upon FMCSA rules in affect, I don't see how it could apply. But what the hey, I've been wrong before.

I've already spoken to Supreme about that, they will not lower the GVW, even though I pointed out it has been done before . So they, for some reason, see it as an issue. :rolleyes: I'm sure the heavier suspension would come in handy.

No idea on mpg ... yet ..... hopefully it will not kill me, but with diesel being so much more expensive than gas, it may be a wash no matter the mpg! I do know this, my Ford F-150 gets 19mpg, UNTIL I put the 5th wheeler on it ... it falls like a rock to 10mpg! I should have some figures...
