The dog days of summer: AUGUST!

At the very minimum you'd need to insulate 6' of it (that's what I did) and use the furniture pad curtains and run a generator and portable a/c. I got out of my van before it got hot this year. But the insulation came in REAL handy this past winter.

The dog days of summer: AUGUST!

Rigid insulation then Masonite panels over that. Spray foam in the door cavities but don't spray moving parts for latches. Get a couple of extendable poles to hang furniture pads over and only cool inside that area.

'Ey, wot's this under me van?

Looks something like an ECM. Aluminum body molded for heat distribution. Awfully far back to be anything like a tranny module.

Who is supposed to pay the liability and cargo insurance?

The last 8 hours were different than all of July. But 1/2 a day does not a recovery make. LOL!! Hopefully digging out. It's still spotty. Location, location, location. I think I read that on a stall at a PFJ one day.

Who is supposed to pay the liability and cargo insurance?

Then it's a good thing your carrier doesn't require that. :)

Who is supposed to pay the liability and cargo insurance?

Good point. I'll start sending the policy numbers for all the policies that fall under our authority. They're all $1M, $100K, with us as add ins. So far, all our guys are with CIS, except one. And he's with Progressive Direct and meets the same requirements we have. Thanks for bringing that to...

Who is supposed to pay the liability and cargo insurance?

At about day 90, we would go ahead and pay our driver for the load and we would go after the broker's bond. If the bond has already been exhausted and the broker is in bankruptcy, we are probably out the money but would seek advice from our attorney.

Who is supposed to pay the liability and cargo insurance?

Our "leg up" was the 9 years I was an ops manager at Rush. For about 7-8 of those years I networked with most of these brokers, 3PLs & carriers that we now work with daily. It was a huge help to at least "open the doors". Then me bustin my ar$e on the road and proving our drive for 2 years...

Who is supposed to pay the liability and cargo insurance?

Correct. Although we've been in contact with another big carrier about their "board", as of right now it's all Sylectus subscriber's overflow. Exactly as you described.

Who is supposed to pay the liability and cargo insurance?

Average days to pay so far for this fiscal year (1/1-8/6) for broker accounts only is currently 36.6 days. We write checks on Friday each week, for any checks in by then, then we mail them. So add several days to a week or 10 for say a check in on Monday and mailed on Friday and received by the...

Who is supposed to pay the liability and cargo insurance?

Without checking every transaction, I suspect the average is about 6 weeks. We certainly have brokers that go past 6 weeks, but we also have plenty that fall under. But I'll pull the report and report back. I might be surprised!!

Who is supposed to pay the liability and cargo insurance?

Another good reason NOT to factor invoices. Shaves percentages off of money that was never even the carriers to begin with. Preserve those funds for the drivers. Sure glad we don't factor.

Who is supposed to pay the liability and cargo insurance?

Yet the BIG carriers are the FIRST to contract the LOWEST bid. The lowest. We lose bids many times a day that the big carrier's broker side posts. We have good relationships with many of them and they, many times, confirm they went with the 85 CPM bid. Trust me. Almost NO carriers are immune...

Who is supposed to pay the liability and cargo insurance?

Hey, let's agree to disagree....sometimes. Carriers of ALL sizes CAN do things right & wrong. O/Os have all different needs. Some carriers need more or less margin. It'll either work, or not, long term. O/Os can and will operate and make money for all different CPMs per mile, short and long...

Kaffenbarger is usually expensive. Try googling "trailer supplies & repair" close to where you are. I got really inexpensive etrack & straps from some place down in KY that way.

Who is supposed to pay the liability and cargo insurance?

YES, you did!!! Of course one can't call Rush an Expediting carrier. But it was hard to relate the stresses of 135 drivers and hundreds of deliveries a day. But glad it's starting to fall into place for you!! The pics of your office look nice! Nice "bosses" desk. I prefer those old steel...

Who is supposed to pay the liability and cargo insurance?

Correct. Those sound like shady "carriers", and calling them "carriers" is a mistake, IMHO. For the record. In case anyone is confused. Although it doesn't matter much as we're only a few away from our max fleet size that we're comfortable with. 1) Our wonderful EXCLUSIVE O/Os run on our MC...
