It very well could fix it. Sometimes on the 05-07 trucks, there will be CAN faults with no P0045, which means the computer can't talk to the VNT at all. The P0045 generally means the ecu can't control the VNT properly, like if its sticking. If there's a broken wire, Id expect to see Can faults...
