    "Touchdown Jesus" Burns....

Kind of like the vandals who paint "Trust Jesus" on overpasses or similar things on the walls of toilet stalls. I am always tempted to write beneath it, "Another message brought to you by Vandals For Jesus." Yeah, before I knew it was Jesus, I'd pass by and go, "Is that supposed to be Jesus...

Another good Kramer moment: the one where he adopts the mile on the highway, and paints over the center stripe! And who could forget uromycetisis? Or the marine biologist?

    "Touchdown Jesus" Burns....

Gideon's neighbors were a bit upset when he pulled down their idol to Ba'al. I'm pretty glad about that. Now, no, that's not the same as Touchdown Jesus, but the neighbors' feelings don't change the second commandment.

Too bad he's wrong. Any MAKING of a physical depiction of God/Christ is a violation of the second commandment. Any.

barry Gives Part of Arizona Back to Mexico

Might things be different now? I forget who said it, but it was observed, "The problem with socialism is that eventually, you run out of 'other people's money.'" We're getting close to that point, it looks like.

    "Touchdown Jesus" Burns....

Being a gross violation of the second commandment, I'm quite happy to see it gone.

The benefits of hanging around truck drivers

I shudder to think of the procedures necessary for this guy to slide some balky tandems, with repeated trips necessary from the cab to the tandems and back. I once heard of a team of huge guys in a cabover. The guy telling me this said that whenever they crossed the scales, one of them had to...

    Diagnosing AC problem

Ok, but then what accounts for the fact that I get no cool air on the road at highway speeds (usually, but sometimes I do).

barry Issues Executive Order Mandating “Lifestyle Behavior Modification”

Not in a constitutional republic, no. In a direct democracy, which is a horrible system of governance under which no rights are safe, it would be. They are only talking about banning smoking in public, right?

    Diagnosing AC problem

I'm hearing and feeling that snap when it kicks in, but sometimes I have to rev the engine to get it. We've never had it checked. This van is new-to-us, a 2007. But short of a major leak, it should be fine. The AC was ice cold until just recently. And low freon wouldn't be temporarily...

    Favorite Seinfeld gags or eps

Among all the users, we should be able to scare up a few Seinfeld fans. What are your favorite bits or episodes? I was just thinking about George pretending to be a marine biologist. "You know I always wanted to pretend to be an architect!" And the one where Kramer becomes a commie store Santa!

    Diagnosing AC problem

Ok, I don't really know what all the parts on the AC unit do. Is the clutch similar to a transmission clutch? One that could slip? Because when I'm at idle, if I rev the engine a bit, I can hear and feel the AC unit kick in and I'll get some cold air. Sometimes it keeps producing cold air...

    Came close today

I'll tell you, the guys that really get me steamed are the ones who don't seem to know that if you're in a lane that's ending, you have to yield. I come across so many that think that the lane that isn't yielding has to yield to them.

The benefits of hanging around truck drivers

I was talking to a guy who essentially lives in his van. He's not a bum, really, just more like a permanent camper. I was asking him his opinion on my AC problem, and I mentioned that, as a fat guy, I gotta have my AC. He said, "You're not fat." I thought, "Poor bas***d...his vision is...

    Diagnosing AC problem

My AC works intermittently. Generally, it works while idling, but when I drive above a slow, city-traffic speed, it shuts down. Sometimes it'll start again after 45 minutes or so of highway driving. Then, when I park, sometimes it'll quit and it may take me an hour to get it working again. I...

Is 5500 BTU enough? I would think that wouldn't be sufficient.
