Is it the unveiling of the Anti-Christ

You would cast your vote for president or any other elected office based on one person's post on a forum for expediters? Maybe you should change your screen name to a past-tense variation cause I think you are already there.

    Voter Turnout

Historically Minnesota ranks at or near the top in voter turnout on election day. This year however Illinois may best Minnesota. Several precincts in Chicago where ACORN has been active are already reporting voter turnout at over 120%.

life expectency of a cargo van

I've got 315,000 on a Chevy 3500 6.0. Aside from scheduled maintenance and tires I have replaced two wheel bearing assemblies and the alternator. Still running the original brake pads. Like Highway Star said: It'll just be getting broken in at 300k.

    Magical Mystery F.S.C.

My point is that I am not on the flat rate system!!!!! It doesn't matter which f.s.c. was first. There is a .16/mile discrepancy between the two. And yes I would complain if 24 hours later the exact same load was offered at .44 and the explanation for the difference was that the customer...

    Fall pics

Tude, I like the second photo. The depth of field draws the eye from the foreground and along the tree lined stream to a muted point in the background. I can see myself paddling my canoe toward that distant point.

    On a positive note

I mailed my absentee ballot last week. As a small business person, a property owner and a believer in capitalism and free enterprise I filled in the oval in front of McCain/Palin. This country has been headed down the road to socialism/Marxism since the 1930's. We picked up some speed in the...

    Magical Mystery F.S.C.

OVM. please re-read my post, especially the second and third paragraphs. Mr. Snappy you may be right about the first load getting knocked down to .28. Everything is subject to change.

    Magical Mystery F.S.C.

Wednesday about 16:30 I accepted a 263 mile load with a .44/mile f.s.c. The load consisted of 10 - 5 gallon pails of black ink weighing 427#. Freight charges were prepaid. After delivery I received a paid empty move back to the board I started from. Thursday about 16:30 I was offered a...

    What a Truck

Kevmar let's partner up in this ice cream business. You can work the main thoroughfares in the Mothership and I will split off in my van and cover the side streets and alleys. We can call our enterprise Ice Road Ice Cream. Has a nice ring to it, don't you think. And to keep all of your...

    What a Truck

They would issue you a cheap white dinner jacket and a clip-on bow tie and you would troll neighborhoods selling ice cream. There you go putting a dozen van drivers out of work.

    Spread The Wealth

This morning on my way into have breakfast I passed a former expediter who is now homeless. He was holding a sign that read "Vote Obama/Ban The Van. Once inside I ordered breakfast and noticed my waitress had on an "Obama '08" button. After eating I told the waitress that she had given me...

    Why don't people get it?

Take it easy Doug. It was a parable. A short story to convey a simple lesson. The unintentional bonus was how it flushed you out. Maybe it was intentional after all. Excellent Blaaze!

    Is this normal?

Maybe compliance guys and dispatchers should be subject to random drug tests. I have been called up for 3 random drug tests in my expediting career. Two with Con-Way and one with Panther. Maybe I should start buying lottery tickets or quit posting weird stuff on E.O. Or both!!! Wow! What...

    6.0 Vortec

I've got 314,000 miles on my 6.0 in a Chevy van. All I have had done is a tune-up every 100,000 miles and an alternator. That's it as far as engine work. This is probably 90% highway miles though! Many expediters have run over 500,000 miles on the 6.0's predecessor the 5.8. Don't see why...
