Chev Express (slop bkt) fuse cover

I broke the cover on mine the first year I had it after blowing a fuse hooking to a friend's boat trailer. I used duct tape to hold and seal the cover. Also on mine, a 2004, GM routed the power steering hose directly over the top of the fuse box. In 2007 I had the fuse box replaced for free...

Question for carriers & fleet owners

What is fair? Driver #1 could hit the trifecta with three 700 mile loads in 5 days and end up 1000 miles from home. Would he have to deadhead back just so driver #2 could get his turn? Driver #2 could take 3 weeks to make the magic 2000 miles. Way too many variables in expediting. A...

Question for carriers & fleet owners

I would think your idea using a cargo van would be doable, provided you can find an accommodating fleet owner. Both drivers would of course make less money, in theory 50% less. Which also raises the question, how to split the time out? A specified number of days? A specific gross revenue...

    Approx what should this pay?

The question you should be asking is: "What should I charge?" Everyone's business is different. You should accept or decline the load based on what you need to make a profit. If my carrier offered me that load today it would pay me about $340. .77 base rate, .23 f.s.c. and $90 border crossing.

    Camper?

Expediting is similar to fishing except without the boat, rods & reels, lake, beer and bait. Sometimes you gotta wait for days for a bite. Sometimes you have to move to a new spot and sometimes you need to troll.

How much can I expect to pay in fuel

I agree, 30% should be a reasonable ballpark average for a van or truck, provided your rate and/or f.s.c. follows the increase in fuel prices.
