Morgan Freeman is in trouble again....

    Tall vans

Ford may be slow, but they're certainly faster than GM for bringing a long and tall van to the U.S. market!

Maybe you should show him where the tow/haul switch is located.

    Scale question

Preramble: The original post was about cargo vans stopping at scales. Somehow it evolved into this, which is probably a good thing. To complicate matters further, I have introduced quotes from two different posters. Please try to follow my train of thought. I wish you luck! Xiggi makes a...

Birthday! Happy birthday to Dave KC

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE! I made you a colorful personal birthday greeting but for some reason I can not post the picture or even add it as an attachment.

To each his own! For a team operation one of these after market sleepers with the bulkhead separating the sleeper from the cargo area is a must for safety and comfort. For a solo like me, I want the whole van to roam around in, preferably on my feet rather than my knees.

A 3.73 would work for me. A 4.10 is too low, well maybe with a six speed...

    Scale question

I'm gonna have to agree to agree with Xiggi and agree to disagree with Turtle. Is the mini van driving, soccer mommy going to change her driving habits around big trucks just because the big truck has HAZMAT placards? I'm sure she will think twice before cutting in front of a big truck and...

I agree with Scott and one more time with Dennis. Wow! Maybe I'm not the anal orifice some believe me to be! Oh, Dennis, the "i" in your above quote should be capitalized. Leo, if you can wait till spring and if Ford offers the Transit at that time in a 9000 to 10,000 GVWR as the T350, it...

    Tall vans

I agree with Dennis. Even if you don't use the extra space for cargo, it sure is nice to have the whole length of the van when laying over, instead of a small fixed sleeper area.

Looks like Xiggi's smart phone out smarted him. I'm guessing he meant drop Nissan from the list and drop missing. If so, I agree! Minimum 100" for cargo and 30" for a bed.

That loooks veery eenteresting. Too bad Adolf Benz can't export a 9990 SRW GVWR Sprinter to for the North American market.

    Scale question

It would be nice if all states adopted a uniform weight and vehicle definition regarding stopping for scales. In 15 years of cargo van driving I have never stopped at an open scale except when placarded and once at a port of entry in Montana. I have never been chased down for running a scale...

Any interest in an activist drivers group?

Why just the other day I was chatting with a D.O.T. inspector who recently completed an on-line course from the AMonger School of Statistical Manipulation. She asked me the following question and before I could reply, answered it: "You know the problem with stupid truck drivers? It gives the...

What to do when this happens

I agree! They endorsed Ronald Reagan in 1980. Within his first 9 months in office he fired the air traffic controllers (PATCO) and the Teamsters again endorsed him in 1984.

What to do when this happens

Ah, the cowards preface. Now you won't have to cite any posts where myself or anyone else made you "feel stupid just because my spelling or grammer may not be up to anyone's standards!" This thread wasn't about spelling and grammar until you included it. This thread had nothing to do with you...

    Scale question

I'm fine with that, but don't the signs read "all vehicles and buses" or something similar. I got the impression from reading the signs that even a pickup truck over 8000 GVWR would required to stop. Jee, I wonder if they make these signs ambiguous on purpose?
