Is possible to heat a CV with an electric heater?

Unless of course your breakdown is fuel related as in no fuel or waxing. I've got nothing against Espars but if I did own one, I would still carry the the regular Buddy Heater and 2 one pounders for emergency back up heat. I've had a lot of experience dealing with extreme cold. If you have...

    Sprinter vs. Cargo Van

I have put almost 1 million miles on two Chevy gassers. Never had an ignition problem due to damp weather. If you have had a problem starting in damp weather, replace your ignition wires with a quality set. How often (mileage) do you replace your wires?

You definitely saw that one coming! I guess it was inevitable, just didn't think it would happen this soon.

    Another Milestone: Bob and Linda

Last paragraph of a total of 5 and you don't want to make this thread about you? Okay, I'll go along with that. Congratulations Linda and Bob. I guess I'll have to pick up a copy of Overdrive. Will you autograph it for me? In the early days of Overdrive Linda would be pictured stretched...

Oooh, Kevmar. Is that a mole on your neck? Oooh, it looks like a mole. A raised mole. Oooh, you know what they say about raised moles. Oooh, not good Kevmar, not good at all. Hmmmm. Maybe its a leach Kev. It could be a leach, right Kev. A leach is better than a raised mole, right...

    Interesting article on expedite trucking.

Yeah but at 644,000 miles will I see a significant R.O.I. if I upgrade my transmission to mode-shift capabilities?

    Interesting article on expedite trucking.

Interesting but also somewhat disheartening for our little niche of the market. The more expedite choices traditional carriers offer the shipper, the lower the rates for us expedite specific carriers. Can someone translate these paragraphs I lifted from the article? Mostly the paragraph in...

    Don't speed to disaster

A very powerful video and an excellent reminder of what can happen during just a split second of inattention while driving.

    listening to drivers complain......

The tetanus booster has changed in the past 10 or 15 years so you could have a reaction even if you never did from the old formula.

    listening to drivers complain......

I'm one of the idiots. Can you explain to me slowly and in simple terms how brokers/agents flood the industry with drivers. Why would they want to use that "flooding" to lower rates. Don't brokers work on a percentage basis? Would not 10% of a $2000.00 load be better than 10% of a $1500.00...

    listening to drivers complain......

Wake up? I'm mostly awake. You are the one that needs a wake-up call. If you are driving a van for an owner who is leased to a small carrier that has few of its own customers and relies heavily on brokers and load boards for freight, then it is you who is not maximizing your potential! It is...

Harvard - Only the Best and Brightest Go There

Most if not all college clubs, concerts, guest speakers, intramural sports etc. are funded by an "activity fee" (term my differ by college) that is assessed with the tuition. If a student is receiving some form of government financial aid, then I guess indirectly the taxpayer is paying, but...

    Solar generator for CVers

It is more than just a battery. It also contains a battery charger, an inverter and a way cool control panel. For $1400 one could also buy a couple of real deep cycle batteries, a battery monitor, inverter and a battery isolator and have it professionally installed with money left over. I'm...

    Percentage Based or Flat Rate?

I sure they are. When I was on a variable f.s.c. program, the f.s.c. could vary as much as .40 to .50 depending on the customer. Same goes for linehaul charges for preferred customers.
