    New Washington Border Info

With all the border talk the last few days it seems like a good time to point out some changes to the truck border crossing at Blaine, WA/Vancouver, BC. Reconstruction of the crossing is now virtually complete and for those who have not been there since there are a few important points...

    Pets- Cranberry Coast Cats

That sounds like Devon and Cornish Rex - they aren't allergy proof but many who do have cat allergies are able to have them around without a problem. Another one is the Sphynx - a cat with NO hair. And yes, you can train cats like you would a dog.

    Pets- Cranberry Coast Cats

Having read the rest of the article (see "News") all I can say is HOLY CR*P - 9 cats in the sleeper................with newborns? To me that sounds downright careless, mothers and newborns need quiet, safe places to be raised in not to mention the potential hazards to young kittens health...

    Pets- Cranberry Coast Cats

Yes, I know but if you poke around that website you will find that THEY are breeding from the cab, not good if you ask me.

    Pets- Cranberry Coast Cats

Yeah, cats are a way of life - can't imagine not having any. I have bred Bombay's and at some point when things stabilize I hope to get back to that, so much fun watching them come into the world yet so hard letting them go to new homes. As you said a Bengal CAN be ok, I've seen some (whole...

    Pets- Cranberry Coast Cats

I would steer well clear of this for several reasons, first of all breeding cats from the cab of a truck raises lots of red flags with me, lots of potential problems with health, socialization, care and well being of the cats, its no place for young kittens to grow up in. Second these cats are...

    Canada Crossing the border!!!!

I'm finding this difficult to follow as well, spelling counts but that is just me. However it appears that the issue is the country of origin is missing from the invoices which is the shippers fault and if the shipper is closed for the weekend there is little Livingston can do about it until...

    CDL-A College degree!

Are you sure about the cost? I checked into that course years ago, 7 weeks, full time - 40hrs/week and $5000.........probably almost 10 years ago now. I ended up getting mine the old fashioned way, read the book and tested in the same truck I drove every day at work. LOL

    Ford's Attempt At Extended

I don't think the transit has anything to do with their fixing or not fixing a poor design - those things have been around for decades.

    good fuel price

Its a bit sad that they have us thinking it's a "deal" to get fuel under $4/gallon. LOL

    Ford's Attempt At Extended

Its the same reason that some want to ban their 15 passenger (extended) vans, as they frequently get overloaded and become unsafe. Last year there was a crash of one loaded with farm workers - its bad to start but these farm ones often get a wooden bench behind the last row and get loaded with...

    Baby Freightshaker/Dodge Sprinter vs. Ford/Chevy/GMC

I guess I should have included more information. The truck would be used for cross border day runs so OTR isn't an issue - my only thinking was getting the Cummins but if the Durmax is proving to be a 500K mile engine then it really doesn't matter. It would likely only cover 40K a year at the...

    Canada FAST card

ummm..................that one that starts with C and ends with W is about the last thing you want to show anyone at Canada Customs. LOL FAST cards are still useful even if you don't have a FAST load. Should you be sent inside it still gets you preferential treatment (meaning you skip over...

    Baby Freightshaker/Dodge Sprinter vs. Ford/Chevy/GMC

I'm talking cutaway chassis-cab-box van models of the Freightshaker/Dodge Sprinter and how they stack up against against Ford and Chevy/GMC's version. It seem initial cost of the sprinter is higher and engine choice is limited on the Ford, I don't know much of anything about the GM engines...

Something I had to figure out the hard way

Yep, and that concrete and hips don't mesh well, now I keep hold of something just in case. Also along a similar path - parking next to a jersey barrier because its more convenient to step onto than the ground is a bad idea. I USED TO do this a couple times a week at the inspection lane...

    Small generator question

I would think there are literally dozens of auto electric shops in Detroit, look for someplace that specializes in rebuilding starters, alternators etc, maybe ask local auto parts stores (not the chains) where they send their cores. Failing that, look to the aviation world, they also have shops...

    Small generator question

Have you tried an auto electric shop to see if they can rebuild it? I bet they can.
