Who besides ThermoKing installs cab heaters?

You have to do 1 - run it in "prime mode" 2 - angle the pump Youtube. Most common mistake is hooking pump up backwards, not u if it works otherwise, so prime it Lots of pdfs for "angle" of pump, I can't remember but I think 45 degrees... The ¼ tank thing is for your main tank, so the van...

    It’s Fibuary !!!

Well I can't even bring myself to gamble like Roadtime, so another day of research... 2 calls came, 1 no cb 1 too tall freight...got laughed at by a couple brokers asking for $1.60 a mile....found out my carrier did $4.3 billion in 2017 (and changed their name, who knew) So many random things...

    It’s Fibuary !!!

Imagine this... A complete turnaround of ideals, working from home, unlimited income and hours worked...as many carriers as I want to work for... Should I become a freight broker? Race to the bottom on rates only improving my income? :D (Evil laugh here) Thinking about it. $75,000 bond, big deal.

    DOT inspection

Ok, found it. We're the same as DOT this is the Canadian spiel "Enforcement The most signifcant diference between the maintenance standard and the other inspection standards under the NSC is that there is no on-road enforcement of the requirements. Rather the requirements are enforced by...

    DOT inspection

Ok, I have read that but assumed something was missing. 3 pages vs canadian 195 pages? I guess I have to read both and make a judgement call to understand better. First glance at the American one: if its worn out or broken, no pass. I should hope Edit: and indeed on an over 10k vehicle, ABS...

    DOT inspection

I definitely admit I have no idea what's going on with regulated trucking, much less the American / Canadian terminology Where do I find a copy of the yearly DOT inspection procedures for mechanics? Here is a copy of the CSA standards for comparison purposes Oh and thanks for answering. I...

    DOT inspection

Now what I'd like to know is, if the equivalent to a Level One is done in Canada does it meed the DOT standard, or are there going to be mechanics crawling over my truck with dial calipers looking for parts a few hundredths out of spec. Or, like DOT obvious broken items that nobody in their...

    DOT inspection

Yes, I slightly exaggerated there, sorry Edit: anecdotally, yes I heard log the pre trip, and if you write 15 min not 30 one driver said they'll make you prove you can do it in 15 lol

    DOT inspection

Let me clarify. A level 1 DOT inspection sounds like a Canadian pre-trip

    DOT inspection

It's come to my attention, that the DOT inspection standard is a pretty low bar. Anyone crossing into Canada, do the scales inspect according to the DOT standard here? Or does Canada have its own rules? Yes I'm Canadian, but never having been inspected I have no idea (My assumption that it...

    Drug Testing for Vans

Yeah I hijacked the thread. I think drug testing is overdue for vans. Think of how carriers and drivers can push the HOS They may cause less damage when crashing, but liability.... Edit: an hour ago I just got a warning from my elderly mother about a driver that had a failed test. FYI...

    Drug Testing for Vans

Sorry, the DOT check is a joke. All it tells you is if something's broken. (OK joke is too harsh) We just had an overhaul of the whole system, for passenger cars too. I was talking to the mechanic - he said my daughter's Toyota needed a wheel bearing to safety. No, it wasn't loose when he...

    Drug Testing for Vans

I did my own research. The DOT level 1 I downloaded from FMCSA sounds like what I do every month, and a lot of it weekly or daily. I'd do that tomorrow, and as often as asked. The Canadian standard for passenger cars is 96 pages (Ontario) over 10,000 lbs is 195 pages long (NSC, canadian DOT)...

    It’s Fibuary !!!

Well they have my back, as long as it doesn't cost them anything :p Here in Canada I can do both. It won't interfere with the 1 or 2 calls a week lol

    It’s Fibuary !!!

U'll love this one Grizzly Just got my first pay stub since coming back. Rates are down about 10% 1.09 and 1.27 a mile US$, last 2....maybe I gotta find my own freight :D (No when I ask, they plead ignorance and say the job hasn't been rated yet ) Fortunately in Canada I don't...

    It’s Fibuary !!!

On the detour home Google Maps had a special hill for me and a couple 5 ton's.. I was first and made it 80% to the top. Backed down (in drive, the hill was so steep I didn't even notice). Tried again, had to back down. By then I attracted our friendly OPP, I told him I'd try once more in...
