I have never taken depreciation or actual expenses on the life of this van... does this mean I can go beyond the 5 years for the standard mileage deduction? Ok....you are saying that 5 years is the normal depreciation time, so I can't use the standard after the 5 years? Now it just reverts...

Maybe just call it a sign of good faith on both parties....I don't care for the word "rewards" much....but that is just me...IMO

Its not an incentive...if I mis spoke sorry...if the owner can afford to do this and feels good about...the driver would be MAYBE more comfortable and MAYBE be more productive...it would never hurt...

Frank...some of us are having a debate on the life of the mileage deduction....you and my accountant are speaking of a 5 year term..and the must go to actual expenses...and friends accountant can not find any reference or ruling in the IRS tax guidelines.... Is there a ruling or specific...

I don't have a built in bunk...not that much extra weight maybe 300 lbs worth...with micro and generator and folding bed being the heavies...some minor tools, LP and extra clothes and a supply of pickles..I am like can carry 2500 lBs legally..Unless he's a local chap and doesn't stay out long...

I'd be inclined to challenge ya on that....UNLESS you are traveling really light... the models are only 1400 lbs difference....I am not even close to be able to take 3,000 lbs with my set-up...with the added weight of that floor....you must have NO personal gear to speak of...
