    Flying J Handed Guilty Verdict

I can't imagine a tractor trailer being towed from a parking spot in the big truck parking lot out in back of a truck stop. I can, however, imagine trucks being towed from parking spaces where there are signs that say "No Truck Parking" or something to that effect. Doesn't matter if the sign is...

Does your company have enough trucks?

"Dunno .... mebbe in some cases, smaller, more nimble, less overhead, able to react quicker ...... ?" Personally, I think that's it. Smaller carriers don't have as much of the barriers of resistance to change that many large carriers have. They can react quicker to smaller changes in the...

What is the strangest load that you did as an expediter?

I picked up a crate containing all the parts to a jet engine fan, each blade had a custom wooden frame inside the crate for it. Hundreds of precision blades. Picked it up in Clifton, NJ and took it to the airport in Detroit, where they put it on a cargo plane and flew it to France. I have no idea.

Does your company have enough trucks?

Due to a complete lack of oversight in fleet positioning, I would argue that Panther has far too many trucks. The Empty Moves are now gone, as are even the unpaid Relocation Suggestions, and Macro 8 is inaccurate, so they've got the fleet repositioning themselves with little or incorrect...

    FDCC, Panther, Tri State/Just Brokers!

The carrier can reserve only what is spelled out in the lease agreement that you agree to, nothing more, nothing less. If it's not in the contract, and you don't agree to it, they can't do it. Neither party can unilaterally force the other into something not mutually agreed upon. Yes, no...

    FDCC, Panther, Tri State/Just Brokers!

That's just one extreme variation of forced dispatch, but it's far from the sole meaning. In a non-forced dispatch contract lease situation, a load offer is made, and you can accept it, renegotiate the terms, or reject it outright. Any penalties for load refusals constitutes forced dispatch...

lease prchase cargo van or sprinter?

Expediting has changed dramatically since 04 to 06. It's not the same at all. Back then you could make 1000 a week without even trying. Now, 6 to 700 a week after expenses is one of the more rare better weeks in a van. But, like you said, if all you need is a lil income, then van expediting is...

    Where is Alborado?

What difference does it make? Whoooooo cares? This site is about expediting information, not about personalities or public profiles or truth in 'all things avatar'. You don't really think I'm an actual turtle, do you? Have you ever noticed that a lot of people here, spend a lot of time here...

What is the strangest load that you did as an expediter?

I've taken some kewl, and strange, stuff, but the strangest was a shoe box containing a pair of golf shoes that I picked up from an apartment building in Chicago, and took it to Augusta National Golf Course. Dood left home without them and he needed them for a 8AM tee time.

Yeah, well, just keep in mind that the function of a cheerleader is lead spectators in cheering for your team, even when the team sucks, or more to the point, especially when your team sucks. In sports, the team's shortcomings and faults are there on the field of play for everyone to see, so the...

"how can you bump up an estimated f.s.c. which Panther claims is set by the customer and is only an estimate." It's called "Bait and Switch", even though Panther calls it "We Pay What We Say" It's only an estimate, so they make really bad estimates to get you to take it, or they bump it with...

I'll just say that when you are on the benefiting side of those who play favorites, and don't kid yourself if you think it ain't happening, your views of the overall picture will be a little skewed. The opposite is also true, if yer not benefiting.
