    What's Up With This???

Dumb questions and a statement; If the initial run was given at 1300 and the delivery was at 0730, why is the run plsn for over 11 hours anyway? Shouldn't there be a split regaurdless in the run just because it is over 11 hours? Shouldn't the driver have the option to split the load on his...

    America: Freedom to Fascism

Broom you said;'Hey Tcall see I do have some Liberal thoughts.....' Don't fall for the liberal trap of us against them thing that they like to use when talking about taxes. I don't really care what Bill Gates pays in income tax becuase it don't matter to me or my family. What matters is...

How do you feel about back to back runs?

Fastrod, I just don't agree. The driver does not even come close to becoming an employee if they don't offer you any thing. What becomes a problem when talking about employement is the fact that the dispatcher tells you to take the run or else. Also being an independent contractor has nothing...

    What's Up With This???

I am so d*mn glad I am not being paid by the mile. 650 in 11 hours? OK? Has anyone thought that this is estimated miles, not actual miles. with the addition to the pick up and possibly getting on and off the freeway (just grasping a straws there) the actual miles may be more of less. I...

How do you feel about back to back runs?

Actually Leo, this is the second time I have heard this from a driver of the same company. This is not a HOS thing but a failure in company managment/policy and shows that don't have properly trained people in the dispatcher's seat. I think that the dispatcher should have known better, and...

FS-2500 bypass filter from Filtration Solutions

RE: FS-2500 bypass filter from Filtration Solution John, the idea of any additional filtration is a good idea but it does not replace a good oil analysis. I really don't know much about the FS-2500, can't see what is patentable about it but it may not be a bad thing to install. I used to use...

FL series owners, got power door locks?

Fr8 Shaker, my problem is the opposite, the button is so hard to push down I usually lock the door with the key. I am going to take the door apart in April when I start rebuilding the sleeper. And I learned my lesson of being locked out, I carry a spare key and have one hidden on the truck.

RE: RE%3A This is how the Anti War Protestors WARNING – this is a long long post, please turn off your screen if you don’t want to read it. Tallcal, It seems that you’re the paranoid one here. Please take the emotion out. I realize that you can’t possible look at this in a logical...

    another new driver

I really don’t want to discourage you, but I find this a perfect example of, well jumping into something with no rhyme or reason. Ok paying cash for the truck is one thing but how about insurance? What about a reserve just in case? Any contingent planning done if this fails? Willing to...

FL series owners, got power door locks?

I am told that the FL50/60/70/80 (maybe M2) had an optional power door locks. I would like to add them to my truck for a couple reasons, one is security but I ran into a wall - part numbers. I asked my sources who have not been able to come up with the part numbers due to changes taking place...

For someone out there, a dream come true..

Your very own Submarine Yes you too can have your very own submarine, the US navy is fixing to give away to a lucky person or company a completely restored vintage 1968 submarine. Be the first on your block to have one. Impress your friends at the yacht club when you dock it. Be able to...

    MPG

"I'm dispatched for Monday if the Colts win so I won't be getting a run between now and then" You too? If the bears lose, which may happen, I get to head down to indy with some runs but if they win, I am tied up all day in near zero weather.

    hey

Well I am going to say that I am so suprised. Don't take this personal bambam, I mean that the owner of the truck is not going to be there with her, take a test drive with her and make sure that the investment that they made is not going to end up in a ditch somewhere a few miles down the...

Visteon to close Connersville, IN plant Sept 1

Lawrence, As much as I would love to support the auto industry with the two remaining US car companies, I simply can't. Starting with GM and their recent "crisis" that never really was, they have shifted a lot of things off shore under the guise of the crisis. They have been in Mexico for a...

Looking for input on building a C-unit

Thanks Moot, I knew it was something like that but could not think of the name. I like the idea of polished aluminum, bright and shiny but on the other hand bullet proof (I assume a combination of Kevlar and carbon fiber) sounds good too so when I go through Detroit my cargo will be protected...

    Scales???

Scaling in Michigan is for ALL vans over 6500 lbs GVW (someone correct me if I am wrong on that number) that are used commercially. They came up with this change in 2005 and it hit us in January. Well documented thing. Many of the scale house people will say don't worry about it, a few will...

    QC and the Cold

There is a definite problem with the cold and the antenna system on the QC. The antenna system is mechanical, actually moves around looking for satellites and is moving all the time. The unit does not like the cold if it is old or has not been serviced properly (meaning taken apart, cleaned...

    MPG

Thats great. I too average 10.5 to 11 if I keep my foot out of it and drive at 64 MPH. I find that if I push the truck hard, shift hard (above 1500, like 1600) and get in a hurry, it drops to 9. Although I am concern with my last run, around 570 miles round trip, the fuel gauge dropped more...
