    Canada Pre-Processing Center

Remember that even though you may be fast approved, you must have the bridge pass to use the left lanes in Sarnia coming into the US. That applies whether you are loaded or empty. They want their $5.00 dollars and there are no cash registars in these left lanes. You will be oked by customs, but...

    Insurance catch 22 's

I am not sure on a pick-up pulling campers, but a 98 commercial flatbed straight truck last year (not leased to a carrier) was $5,200 in Florida. Much cheaper to insure through your carrier if it is available. Rates may be higher in the midwest or northeast. Davekc

    Freightliner highway robbery!

It would be nice to have a general comsumer report type information survey on peoples experiences with dealers. Just a 20 point questionaire so dealers or repair facilities aren't unfairly trashed. Something like speed of repair, quality of service, expected price on repairs, warranty work? was...

    O/O revenue and drivers pay

Some very good responses. As Tom mentioned alot of figures or expectations swirl around percentages. What kind of dollars are needed to retain or attract good drivers or teams. Do folks think $1000 a week $2,000 a week ect. Whether it is percentage or flat milage rates. Since no real benefits...

    O/O revenue and drivers pay

No Problem That is the type of information that would be helpful to alot of the owners ect. As mentioned in another post, I think the industry will have to make some changes as well as the owners. I think the typical 60/40 split is going to be a thing of the past. What would be a decent wage for...

    O/O revenue and drivers pay

This is kind of a follow up to RichM's post. It seems alot of companies and owners are struggling to find team drivers ect. The large truck load carriers are offering .32 to .50 cents a mile plus benefits and still can't find enough drivers. As I look at the current classifieds, there are only...

    ??? Automating Existing Landing Gear???

It would be harder to do an upward slope. If you can make a quess as to where your landing gear would be you can lower to the desired level and then let the air out of your suspension. Most places you go will be either flat or will project downward. Davekc

    c 10 cat

Glen is correct, I have seen most used ones with a 200,000 mile warranty through a dealer. New ones can have a 500,000 mile warranty but not sure on the new acert engines what that cost would be. Any dealer could tell you, I would think the cost would be about the same. Davekc

    ??? Automating Existing Landing Gear???

It is a motor that attaches to the existing gear assembly. You must already have an existing setup. If not, then you are looking at 12 to 1500. When purchased, they have a replacement shaft, the sealed motor, and an optional hand crank.(it can be manually cranked if needed) I think they only...

335 cat is a good engine as far as I know. I have had several in tractors and they did fine. Not recommended however for heavy hauling. Not enough HP. In an expediter it would work well. Davekc

    ??? Automating Existing Landing Gear???

LBD Most dock are either flat or will decend in a downward slope. If it is a downward slope, stop before your decline and lower to the correct height. Even with landing gear towards the rear ect, the travel distance from the ground to the bottom of your landing gear will remain the same. It...

    Freightliner brakes

I would agree with Glen. Most of the time the noise you are decribing is coming from the springs. The only concern I would have is a hard pull to your drivers side. It would be to your advantage to find a dealer who has a suspension machine. Diagnostic costs are around $200.00 with that usually...

    ??? Automating Existing Landing Gear???

This might be worth adding for the new folks ect. When presented with a tight space for putting landing gear down here are some suggestions. Crank your gear down until it is only 2 inches from the ground. Then, back into your space. At that point you can either crank it a few times and you are...
