    Chicago Deadlier Place Than Afghanistan

Of course, if they compared civilians in Chicago to civilians in Afghanistan, they'd have a very different story to write. The most conservative estimates since the war began in 2001 put Afghan civilian deaths at a little over 110,000.

Thanks for the memories, Ladies and Gentlemen! Out of a job!

Yeah, what the others said. Normally in expediting, when you drive for a fleet owner (someone else's truck), you are self-employed as an independent contractor. You are essentially renting their truck (or van). The truck is contract-leased to the carrier, and you are contract-leased to the owner...

You're not an employee in expediting.

US Supreme Court upholds key Arizona immigration clause

Read again the parameters as put forth by Witness. It includes those who may vote for Obama, as well as those who may not vote for Obama. That's everybody.

    Big Brother

The story at The Blaze is pretty lame, typical paranoid nutjob type stuff. The stories from reputable sources that talk of these drones, who is applying for FAA approval and buying them, those stories are much scarier. Much scarier.

June Locations and all the Banter who can post!

The part number is critical. Auto parts stores and others have plenty of those bayonet bulbs that are close, really close, but not quite exact. But what you want is a 6418. Sylvania/License Plate Light Bulb (6418LL) | AutoZone.com

US Supreme Court upholds key Arizona immigration clause

I think it's funny that critics of the law, both that of which was upheld and that which was struck down, label it as "racial profiling", as if immigration status is somehow a race. It's absurd to claim that Arizona cops would pull people over and inquire as to their immigration status solely...

Thanks for the memories, Ladies and Gentlemen! Out of a job!

Seems to me like the best situation would be to get out of the employee mentality, forget about getting an Employer ID Number (EIN), and just buy a van and go to work. As a sole proprietor in an unregulated vehicle you're out of the industry and out of the cross-hairs of the Teamsters, anyway...

US Supreme Court bans mandatory life terms for youths

I'll buy a dictionary and look up whatever you want me to, if you buy a textbook on English Comprehension and read it. Justice Roberts' comment wasn't about LIFE or DEATH, it was about the commonality of mandatory sentences being the justification for their Constitutionality.

I cannot believe that the difference between Flint and Royal Oak can make one bit of difference in expediting. In local deliveries, sure, but not in expediting. If you go where the freight takes you, then it doesn't matter where you live. If you have to go home a lot, you don't need to be in...

US Supreme Court bans mandatory life terms for youths

OK, the kid who robbed the video store shouldn't have been given a mandatory life sentence, especially since he didn't pull the trigger, but the kid who beat the man with a baseball bat and then set the man's trailer on fire should. The first can be chalked up to teenager, and all that comes...

US Supreme Court upholds key Arizona immigration clause

Interesting how headlines for the same story can be so strikingly different. One says US Supreme Court upholds key Arizona immigration clause, another one says High court strikes down key parts of Arizona immigration law. It's the same story. LOL This reporting casually mentions the part that...

    Something is weird here .....

As Lt.Commander Montgomery Scott once said, or rather, will say,"The more they over-think the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain." Of course, he was talking metaphorically about starships, but it applies, metaphorically, to Web sites, as well. Scotty was a great proponent of the...
