    Recharged my batteries

We have be very tired of the church we had been going to for years. Too many sermons about supporting illegal aliens and socialist talk. We have started going to another church, another Catholic Church, the difference was like night and day. The priest at this church is just 2 years older than...

We need to control our borders. We also need input from the world. International travel and visits by outsiders is a good thing. We just have to be more careful than we have been. American's tend to be a bit short sighted at times. Once something is over, it is over. We, as a nation, have...

Very good Turtle!!! It would be so easy to retreat into the comfort of isolationism, in the short term. It would be a disaster in the long run. The problems we face are multi-faceted and the solutions are just as varied. The secret to a real start is first to fight this war for real. To do that...

    Another Year Ends

Sure, last year was very interesting to say the least. We have a plan set for the New Year. We plan on spending 2010 paying down debt. We managed to get caught up in 2009 from the mess we had in 2008. We plan on pretty much doing what we did this year only, with any luck, fewer mistakes. This...

I don't know if we can go to "0" visas, but I surely understand why you would feel that way. Getting rid of all criminal invaders, no matter where they came from, is a no brainer. Keep the scum out and get rid of all the scum already here.

Whatever. I have no idea what words I put in your mouth. Besides, I don't have to answer to you anyway. Leave it alone and it will return.

What do you for personal safety?

That what is taught in every CCW class in Michigan as well. I still have a problem with the entire CCW thing since we already have the right to carry under our Constitution. It is always better to be prepared than to be a victim.

It can be a tough call for sure. I just think things should be tighter during a time of war.

Oh I do remember. Things got tough back then from time to time. Cut into our drinkin money!! :p Are you prior military? I was not aware that the Canadian military paid monthly as ours did back then.

Cherii, just lighten up. All you needed to do was post back on topic. This is how normal conversation flows. In here and in person. Geez. You mean to tell me that when ever you are in a group conversation that it never strays or flows? How boring that would be.

If this report is correct this is not a good sign. We are at war. Our intelligence service should have been on this like white on snow. If nothing else, revoke his visa until he is either cleared or not. You should always error on the side of safety. All kinds of red flags should have gone up...

I went in June 28, 1970. I think I was paid $165 per month as an E-1. It was right around that. If I remember correctly as an E-4 in 1973, when I got out, I was making $368 per month.

Yeah, no one in the military is exactly overpaid, that is for sure.

Depression stories? Shoot, we did stuff like that when I was in the army. The last week before payday things would get tight sometimes. When you only make around $350 and only paid once a month. It was not always easy.
