    Cruise problem....

Sounds like a fuse issue but if they aren't listed, you may have to look in the manual. If that isn't available, call a FL dealer with the serial number and they can give the numeric sequence of which fuse slots go to what. Hopefully it is just that simple of a fix.

    Setting the record straight

Gee....not sure who would have wrote you to say you were misleading? Even after Gary tried to defend and/or clarify the situation, it is amazing that one still feels the need to argue and correct him. Based on your post Gary, and why you changed appears to be not only revenue, but a whole...

    If GM fails, what then?

A significant percent of the first 25B they got went for executive bonuses. Or, GM called them retention bonuses. What would be the value of retention to people that ran them into the ground? The foreign competitors whether Toyota or whomever are much better managed and don't have their hand...

Patrick, They just updated the GPS with that new card. One of our teams has said so far it is keeping up with their other gps. They have only had the new version in for about a week, so the jury is still out. The original format was pretty worthless. There is no charge for GPS. The place I...

Certainly agree on that one point. ALL of them charge too much, and YES they do make money off of them contrary to any song and dance they may tell you.

I would say on this issue, Panther is ahead of the pack. Why? Basically because of paperless logs, integrated GPS, scanning abilities, and ECM hook up. The latter does incur a minimum monthly charge if someone wants it.

Have to agree. May even have to pick up the phone to make it happen. Can be profitable regardless of which side you are on.

    Panther out of business?

With the type of slow down we are experiencing, the vans are certainly getting hit the hardest. Their freight in most cases has been auto related and that has really slowed down. When just looking at expedite and LTL boards, load capacity has been on the increase as business try to combine...

Phil wrote I actually feel a sense of relief reading your post. It has nothing to do with Panther. It has to do with knowing that Diane and I are not the only ones experiencing slow freight. It is easier to sit when you know others are sitting too. While we of course would prefer to be...

I would agree with you Leo. The more strreamlined anything is , the better it is likely to work. I do think the availibilty of phone numbers and your C-link issues go hand in hand. That was apparent in the other thread. Dispatchers handling multiple issues aren't going to have the same focus as...

    Expedite slow down?

I would say last year they did there fair share. Just looking at our trucks, I think we did a couple over the last month and that has been it. Might be some others with the cat that say what the bulk of their loads have been over the last 30 days or so?

    Expedite slow down?

I think a lot of your question depends on the company. The more diverse freight base, the better off you will be. The ability to obtain your own freight is another plus. Folks doing strictly automotive are in a real slow down compared to six months ago.

Leo, Short of the fawn and bunny stories, I believe ihamner's post probably would be the first step. Not sure what the result would be, but if enough folks have the same observation then that might get their attention. I do agree if another carrier has that same issue, then maybe they could...
