Too close to the Clintons... for what? For your liking? The selection of the moderators for the debates is about a 2 year process. The Commission selects the names and then submits them to both parties, and either party can veto or approve a name. They tend to choose TV journalists because...

Ooohhh, there were more than two. He got on a kind of uncontrolled roll there. He's currently sitting in the corner, wearing a dunce cap, thinking about what he's done.

The GOP doesn't have control over who moderates the debates. They and the Democrats tried that in 1998 and the League of Women Voters responded by pulling their sponsorship of the debates. Since then the presidential debates have been sponsored (moderated) by the aptly named Commission on...

Karl Rove To Anchor Fox News Sunday...

Do you think a debate moderator is supposed to be impartial and unbiased or something? A debate moderator can be just as biased politically as they want. The only impartiality that is required is in the role of giving each participant equal time in answering and rebuttals.

Cargo Van Need opinions on van replacement

No, but with a GAWR of 5,360 pounds it's not really a problem for any freight up to about 2400 pounds. A single pallet up to 1500 pounds handles fine at the rear of the van, but anything heavier than that gets moved more towards the front of the cargo area when loading it. Even pushed forward...

Cargo Van Need opinions on van replacement

My Sprinter has a wheel switch that let's me lower or raise the aim of the headlights as needed. If I'm loaded heavy and the front of the van is raised I just lower the aim of the headlights appropriately.

Cargo Van Need opinions on van replacement

I don't understand the problem with the overhang. The longer the cargo area the more room you have for cargo and/or bunk space. The ability to carry more weight with a shorter overhang is irrelevant, unless you have a specialized need to carry specialized freight. The goal certainly shouldn't be...

ATTN All owners/fleet owners & carriers

Which is why the Code of Conduct prohibits posting of personal information, even in cases where someone is claiming the theft of a $40,000 van. I'll just say that if I were going to put someone in my van, not only would it have a GPS tracking device hidden under the dash, but I absolutely...

Other than the obvious, glaring and blatant conflict of interest, that is. About half the major news organizations prohibit their journalists from politicking or contributing money, the other half has no prohibitions (but still requires the reporting of any conflict of interest). Giving to...

No it's not. It's been said many times, and is worthy of repeating... those who cause the most problems in The Soapbox, aren't even expediters.

Waiting to get unloaded at a Sunoco refinery in beautiful downtown Nederland, TX. This after watching two safety videos that took 45 minutes, and two TWIC-esque security videos that took another 45 minutes. All so I can get escorted in, unload, and back out in 5 minutes.
