I don't think I've met anybody in person even yet. My habit of not hanging at truck stops--- that, and the cloaking device I got from the Romulans. Great for hiding in plain sight.

    A&E shipping wars LOL

Not a chance. The comments already indicate a fussbudget customer (don't ask me why, but the cheapest customers are also usually the fussiest) and more trouble than I need. It's a travel trailer, fer cryin' out loud. Get a hitch and wiring harness on your van and you're set to go, and at only...

    A&E shipping wars LOL

Any thought I might have had about using Uship to secure freight has been cured by watching what little of the show I watched and by reading these comments. Deadheading home is actually a much better choice than trying to use Uship to get the next load.

    A&E shipping wars LOL

OK, folks, here it is, real quick. My van is rated (according to the door sticker) at 8600 GVWR. It doesn't take very much of a trailer to put me up and over 10,000 CGVWR. My old boat trailer wouldn't do it, but it was a real lightweight. Almost any cargo trailer now on the market would put me...

    A&E shipping wars LOL

Quickie bump, to go with the companion thread that was just started. I tried to watch again this past Tuesday, but-- it can't be done. Nobody can be that bad-- can they???

    Actual Sprinter MPG

I can't give you current because I don't own one anymore, but-- the one I had was the biggest one they made in 2005, in the 2500 series. Longest wheelbase, tallest body and so on. I was averaging 21.5 to the gallon and a bit better, and I tended towards being a leadfoot. If you're a bit easier...

    Info update on roadshredder

Storage depends on the bulb. For the tail lights, turn signals, stop and rear running lights, no problem. They're small and easily stowed in the cardboard containers they come in. Modern headlight bulbs are much the same, an H1 or H7 just doesn't take a lot of room and the container they come in...

    MPG gas vs diesel

I have no intention of moving to South Dakota, nor is there any good reason for me to do so. However, if you want to move there don't let me stop you. I merely stated some facts. If those facts came across as whining--- maybe you should get your whine-o-meter checked. It's a wee bit off.

    MPG gas vs diesel

I'm not sure how much "bonus" I get, since I can prove that my gas engine burns significantly more fuel and costs more per mile as a result. The FSC, as I understand it, is per mile. If it were per gallon, then yes, I might get a bonus. When I was a courier, running a route: 200 miles average...

New transportation bill creates safety concerns over bigger rigs

OK, that's what I was looking for. Bigger and heavier is a bad idea, even if it's a Michigan Train set-up. Imagine those things nationwide---.

Cursive writing maybe dead in the water.

The only thing I write in cursive is my signature, and I can't even read it anymore. When I was in school I wrote legible cursive, but years of not using it have caused it to go to seed.

New transportation bill creates safety concerns over bigger rigs

They already have huge trucks with lots and lots of axles in Michigan. I wonder how their roads are holding up, and what the safety record of those enormous trucks actually is. The Michigan DOT should have some information, I would think. I see them on Int. 94, and while 94 isn't the best road...

    The Future of Driving

How odd. Mercedes-Benz once ran ads about how they were in the vanguard of safety, now they come out with quite possibly one of the most unsafe inventions to come down the pike.

    MPG gas vs diesel

Once you do that, we gas burners just might be underpaid. Truth: During the days I had my Sprinter and I was doing a regular route, I figured the cost of fuel both for my Sprinter and what I knew my old Ford had gotten. It came out that fuel and a 300 a month car payment combined for the...

    MPG gas vs diesel

I can get different results from one tankful to the next. Am I facing headwinds or am I running before the wind? Hills? How fast am I trying to go? What about air temperature? It all figures in there.

Telsosemarketers calling our cellphones starts soon

I did. They didn't. Only the non-working phone number (if you call back) changes to protect the guilty.

Telsosemarketers calling our cellphones starts soon

The credit-card scammers that I keep getting calls from don't play by the rules at all. They don't stop calling just because you ask them to, they don't give a hoot about the do-not-call list, they call from numbers that, if you call back, are not in service and they seem to change phone numbers...

I might have met somebody and not know it. I don't hang around truck stops as a rule, I get gas, maybe use the rest room, get a cup of coffee and then get back on the road. I prefer rest stops for napping. However, I have seen a couple of marked expediter vehicles at the rest stops and never...

I wonder if they'll let me put the sticker on my van? It's kind of old, and somebody might get the idea that the sticker is the only thing holding it together.

As promised, I started looking. Stamp this one "Bogus". This rumor has been floating around ever since the invention of dust, only the names are changed on the sender of the emails warning you of this. See link below. telemarketers calling cell phones at DuckDuckGo (Note: After last time...
