No Low beam headlights for Dodge Sprinter

Fix the easiest, quickest things first--- then we start on the harder and more expensive. I don't know if the 2006 did anything different, but on my old 2005 it took H7 bulbs for the lows, H1 for the high beams.

Republican wants to make chicago 51st state

That could make an idea that was voiced in the area earlier even more interesting than it was. There was a move to have Palatine secede from Cook County, likely joining Lake County just to the North. This was just after Todd Stroger pushed to have Cook County taxes raised dramatically, thereby...

    Legal or NOT?

One other thought: Negative posts on an open forum are poison for your future prospects. These things are wide open and the company owners read them, too. So, legal or not, this might not have been one of the better ideas.

    Legal or NOT?

Can you document all of this? If you can, then it occurs to me that Panther could be in a world of legal hurt before everything is said and done.

    Driving thru Chicago

I live here. I wish I could tell you there's a quick way, but I'd be lying if I did that. The best bad way is 294, or jog a bit farther West and take the ILL53/Interstate355 corridor. Both are bad during rush hour, but not as bad as 90/94 through the city. The 74/39/43 route that Notanewbie...

    well, it's my turn

There may be a solution. Just move the "Deer Crossing" signs to less-traveled highways. Then all we have to do is teach the deer to read the signs...

    Question on yearly net income.

I might as well pile on too. Where does the line start for these "jobs"??? Figuring the low end of what you've posted, at 1.05 per mile combined pay and FSC, it would come to $2100 a week. That's almost 110,000 a year. At that rate, a lot of my financial problems start to get eliminated. The...

    Looking for a Broker

So help me--- Gregg336 is complaining about the same thing the rest of us are experiencing. I'd be thrilled if I could get $1000 to$1500 a week steady, but it just isn't there. Even riding for multiple companies doesn't do the wonders one would hope. It's the economy, as much as anything. In...

Freight Index Slides 9.9 Percent in October

Greg, I'm taking a wild guess that he doesn't. He took his sig line to heart, and now he's sitting on top of his millions while the rest of us poor schmucks continue to drive. Now I have to figure out how to drive less and make more-- it's a great living if you can do it.

    Tell it like it is

Obama's election to the Senate was all but assured, seem the Illinois Republican Party shot itself in the foot pretty bad that year. Once the Democrats chose him in the Primaries, and the Republican choice got himself into a problem over a sex scandal, the Republicans had to choose another...

Wanna have fun with Google Earth, (or maps)

It's a plane. I went to satellite view, then magnified. The satellite caught a plane flying past as it took the photo, when you magnify the photo you get a rainbow effect which shows the plane was moving at the time.

    New Guy from PA

Not looking to get rich--sounds about right. About the other-- not so sure. Expediting seems to be more or less a nomadic lifestyle. There's some of us who work for "out and back*" type outfits, the rest work for outfits where you're on the road until you can stand no more and then bolt for...

    I-81 Harrisburg, Pa WARNING

I've driven most of my life in the Chicago area, only recently (the last six months or so) in expedited. Black Ice has been a hazard during winter ever since-- dinosaurs roamed the Earth, I reckon. I've hit a patch a time or three, with predictable results. I got lucky, after losing control I...

    Fun with deputies

I self-limit. In fact, I've said "no" to a couple of runs because the time given to do the run didn't allow for time for any necessary stops. Beyond that, DOT laws or no, there simply comes a time when you're too tired to be safe. It's time to pull over at the first safe place and shut down...

WARNING to "newbie" drivers looking for van position..

Who pays for the fuel?? .19 a mile is about what a Sprinter burns in fuel, if the figures I came out with are right.
