    Looking for advice

"Bang, Bang, Maxwell's silver hammer...":+ sb, you've been given great examples of the problems that could arise. Many of these I've seen and heard about happening in my years in the business. As someone with experience in investments, you understand the concept of a higher return involving...

    Your answer is?

I saw her on the Today show. It was a stage fright, being in shock type of thing. She seemed fairly lucid and had a sense of humor about the incident.

Firegears, now that right there is FUNNY! I don't care who you are... Captain Kirk, Dave and x06 are guys that know this business. Their opinions are very credible and should be seriously considered. Wouldn't something like a mutual fund indexed to the S&P be a heck of a lot easier? The return...

    US Customs Raises Rates

RE: RE%3A US Customs Raises Rates Diva, sounds like you got one that loves to try to "push your buttons". As soon as you show some frustration with their attitude, you are deemed to have an attitude and sent back to the warehouse for the full rubber glove inspection. My last 3 crossings, when I...

    Joining the Expediting Industry....

Dave showed concern about the "little bit" of fuel and this sounds like a red flag to me. I would think that you would start a driver out with a full tank with the agreement that the truck is returned full. Like they do with rental cars. I've heard plenty of stories about fleet owners that have...

    update

Good for you Ark! I hope you stick with it. Not going to college is probably my biggest regret in life. I was accepted at Eastern Mich and Northern Mich Universities, but chose not to go. I've done all right, but sometimes you wonder, what if... Good luck and study hard.

    Jr. can't take the 8

You, as a fan, may not see it as a big issue. For me personally, I feel the same way. I have no shirts, hats or anything else that is NASCAR. I think that the average fan is different. I see it around me everyday, everywhere I go. These fans love their favorite drivers and will spend LOTS of...

    Stop that!

Yep. It's at about 955k and still being driven daily. My son started using it to haul his dirt bike to the races and decided to use it for his daily vehicle. At 18 mpg it's doing better that his 4x4 pick-up at about 13.

    Jr. can't take the 8

Not surprisingly, money was the issue. DEI wanted a bigger cut of the merchandising than Jr wanted to give. So now, DEI will end up with zilch unless they can get another real big name to use the number. Also, the perceived good will would have gone a long way with the fans, and Jr's fans are a...

Do you think expediting for cargo vans is slowing

RE: Do you think expediting for cargo vans is slow I agree. I've been in this almost 9 years and there have been people saying that it's right around the corner the whole time. With HOS being a big issue the last few years, and a significant number of years that vans have been involved in...

    Jr. can't take the 8

Seems like Teresa is shooting herself in the foot a bit with this one. But, the bigger issue is the bucks people have invested. In some cases, BIG bucks! What if you have one of those Monte Carlos, or one of those Volvos?

    More IRP questions

IRP is for the registration of the truck, IFTA is for the fuel tax sharing. Two different things to sign up for. The truck owner may not need his own IFTA account if the company he is leased to takes care it. In my case, I'm registered in Michigan, but I have an Ohio IFTA sticker because the...

    Rigmaster owners...

I've been in 100 degree weather with my Rigmaster and I found it to be satisfactory as long as I had the window shades up. If I start the day with the sleeper at 74, by late afternoon it will get up to 82. Not as good as central air in a house, but good enough to stay comfortable.
