    Welcome to Our World

You got that right Crazy. I think xo6 has never been on the 401. If you're in the left lane passing traffic and "only" doing 120, odds are that you will be very closely tailgated and called vulgar names on the CB. When I ran the 401 regularly, it was a problem there WAY more than anywhere else...

    D Units on the Highways

The 5 year thing is only for signing the truck on. Most will let you keep a truck much longer once it's on. Rich had his on with the Fed for 9 years, I think?

    Home Time

Now that I've moved up to the comfort of a D-unit, I'm out minimum 6 weeks up to 3 months. I stay home 4 or 5 days and will be home for a week to 10 days at Christmas. My son overnights my mail to me when needed.

    WAY TO GO SPEEDCO!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a problem with Speedco the first time I went to them. They stepped right up and did the right thing with me too. It speaks well of them and I continue to use them.

    $#&*^% DARN IT!!!!

Geez Hawk, I guess I'm going to have to play things a bit closer to the vest.:+ Actually, since we have a rotation I wouldn't look at you as a competitor even if I was parked next to you. Your 24' box might bump you ahead of me, or the bigger inner dimensions and door opening of mine could get...

    Log Books

I'm not sure how the burden of proof would work here. Can you prove you did nothing? The fact is that the recap is just not useful in a roadside inspection. The inspecting officer isn't just going to look at it and trust that it accurately reflects what's in the book. He's going to review each...

    Problems with Panther

It's easier to lie? Yeah, I suppose the time it would take for 2 or 3 more sentences was pretty critical at the time. Yes, I'm sure that must be the case. Closed circuit to, well, you know who you are: Not that you had any doubt about your decision, but if you did I think it would be gone now.

    XM radio - now what?

Excitement may be a bit of a strong word to use here, but it is very cool to have a variety of programing choices available, seamlessly, from sea to shining sea. Hmmm... You know, for a simple dude like me, whose very easily entertained at times, that is exciting. Yeah, I'll go with exciting.

If you turn down loads ,will your company fire you

RE: If you turn down loads ,will your company fire "No forced dispatch" is a common phrase in this business. Since we are independent contractors they really can't "force" us to do anything. The reality is, they have loads to move and that's what we're there for. Any company would, at some...
