    ABC Box Company

What a perfect day for this thread to show up. I picked up my new 22' ABC box today. So far, it's hauled my van from Columbus to Anna, Oh. with no problem. My fingers are crossed.

    COBRA GPS

I got a Garmin c330 about a month ago and I like it so far. ETA feature is something I didn't realize I'd like as much as I do. As far as routing, I still do my own. I was going through Ohio and made a turn that Garmin didn't want me to. After recalculating, it cut 30 minutes off the ETA.

    Mexican Trucks

I've been to Laredo and Brownsville and I haven't seen anything that supports the increased accident concern. And, that's where they're operating. I'm not saying I'm a fan of them being here...

    I Just don't get it

You say you have no house payment. That would suggest that your general cost of living low. Yet, fuel and personal expenses for a cargo van are a problem. That being the case, moving up to a bigger truck may not be a good idea. Also, you chose a terrible time of year to get into the biz. If you...

    Need some advise and info

I'm skeptical about $75k net, but you will do far better in a straight than in a van. As a current, but soon to former, van O/O, I agree with Babs post. You can get a suitable new truck for less than $2400 a month. We always recommend that newcomers research the forums. If you take the time to...

    HELP ME PLEASE . . .

Hedgehog, after reading your post I'm not sure who should be offended or what genie is out of the bottle. I'm sure that the long time veterans of the business have seen better times and have no problem saying so. Expediting is overpopulated with vans. This is just members being honest about what...

    no cheap freight

I know 2 guys that put discounted van loads in their D trucks to get back from the TexMex border last week. If the alternative is leaving empty, how much money do you take out of your pocket to stand on principle? It is a frustrating game to have to play. I think the difference between us and...

    Cell Phone Service Providers

I'm with Altell and was told that there was a small chance of roaming charges, but I haven't seen any yet. The coverage is good and it doesn't drop calls too very much.

    Thinking about fiding a driver

I'm not a fleet owner, but I think it will be more of a headache than it's worth. You're probably gonna take a hit selling it with that many miles on an '06, but that's better than the potential hassle that could happen with a driver. IMHO.

Canada Wheres a good place to work

Right now getting that many miles will be tough. When it picks up you can do that much and more. In general, expedite is overpopulated with vans. As far as what company to choose, have you talked to Thompson? I was with them for over 6 years, until they eliminated the U.S. part of the fleet...
