political correctness tsars, Are you one of them?

RE: political correctness tsars, Are you one of th You also forgot the excuse makers for big oil. And those who like to point out that gas is cheaper than it was in the 50's, when adjusted for inflation.

    deadhead pay

I was told by a driver that they require one trip per quarter.

    Deadhead Percentages

The typical carrier is around 25%. At orientation we were told to expect 30-40% on the high end. If you're getting less than 20%, you're doing good.

Yeah, I want some Cheezy Poofs!!

My wife and I like watching King of the Hill sometimes. Whenever I hear a trucker on the cb who is too fast to understand, I get on and tell him "Dang it Boomhauer! What the hell you talkin bout?" Talk about some warped cartoons! Venture Bros on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim is one of the best...

    deadhead pay

Won't make much of a difference after Nov (I think that's the month), when Canada demands governors on all trucks entering the country. Or is it on trucks entering only Ontario?

    schneider

On the contrary... I've heard many stories of companies like JBHunt sticking it to veteran drivers, because it's their way of doing business. There are those who will take care of their drivers, but few, if any, who will pamper rookies just to fill a seat.

Funny you should mention that. There's a big stink about some of the major companies and their so-called training programs. Since the feds allowed trucking companies to start their own schools, some of these companies are making more training (and the resulting turnover, than they are from...

    Rising Fuel Prices

Oh... one other thing to add. Because the prices are going higher, our governments (both state and fed) see the need to reach into our pockets as well, and raise the taxes on gas. Broom told me NC's tax is around .40/gal. Umm... if they did that when it was around a buck a gallon, I'm sure we'd...

    Rising Fuel Prices

Is it, a good thing, Cheri? I've never known complacency being a good thing. Ppl can afford an extra $40-60 a week to get to work and back. But they don't see the cost high fuel has on the good that are shipped. There's no breakdown on their milk cartons that xx amount is due to shipping. And at...

    age requirements

DOT regs states the min age allowed to operate a commercial vehicle is 21. There are a few companies that will take someone at 21, but more often than not, the preferred age is 23.

    How Neat Are These

Notice that they're all the same truck in the same place? Nice concept tho. Except for the guy backing. That could be a little dangerous.

    hydralic brakes

I've driven several trucks with hydraulic brakes. Not enough difference to note. Only bad thing is if those brakes go out, you have no brakes. If air brakes go out, you usually have a warning before they lock up.

Birthday! July 11 - Somebody has a birthday

One more shot... It's the birthday of George Bush Abdul Kader Faris Abed El-Hussein. He's three years old.

    White glove

Yeah... what Geo said! The companies are basically more anal about their "elite" trucks. And, depending on the company, they're anal regardless. I would rather be running, than be told to sit three days, then the load not end up happening. It doesn't matter how much the load pays.

From the clues you've given, all I can come up with is the birthday of John Q Adams.

Yeah, I want some Cheezy Poofs!!

Greg... I think Riddler was bragging to Batman about his plans before he pressed the button to drop Robin. You know how they do that... "Before you kill me, tell me why you're doing this." "Well... since you won't be around, it won't hurt to tell you."

Greg... your quote is by the Riddler when he was going to take all the knowledge from the ppl of Gotham.
