    Panther holding back O/O's

It would be interesting to know how 1 phone call would bring 20 units. It just seems like it would take a few, at least.

how much power using a laptop

Turtle, I have a Magnum Energy with shore power. It's working great , no complaints. Are you familiar with this brand? Any comments?

    Panther holding back O/O's

Putting your co-driver in the other van would be an excellent idea. Also, have you considered finding a carrier that doesn't put arbitrary restrictions on the number of miles a van can run? There really isn't much of a need for teams in vans, IMHO. Most team runs that are dispatched at 45 to...

    Panther holding back O/O's

Whenever I meet a newbie van team, I make it clear that they need to temper their expectations of how much they'll work. They always listen, but some think that they somehow have what it takes to be "better". As has been pointed out, there's just too dang many vans! If you're going to be a team...

    running on your own

But, did Pa. know you'd be using the van commercially? What you describe is the same in Mich, if the vehicle is for personal use. As an example, I could buy a Crown Vic for my personal car and it would get passenger plates. If I use that same car as a taxi cab it has to have a commercial plate.

    running on your own

Did Pa. tell you that it's O.K. to run commercially with a passenger plate? It probably isn't, I know in Michigan you're not supposed to do that. You may never get busted for it, but you never know.

    The Changing Economics of Trucking

Things like bigger trailers and more compact packaging are effecting the rate of growth in trucking, but trucking continues to grow as does our population. 25 years ago I rarely had an issue with finding a place to park for the night. Now, it's a pain in the tookus.

    Financial Crisis Explained

Schumer has no real redeeming value, but we should keep Bawney Fwank around because it's a hoot making fun of the way he talks!

    XM pain in the arse

This may have nothing to do with Broom's issue, and we all know he has issues, but just some FYI on the difference between XM and Sirius. Sirius's bird is higher in the sky than XM's. Because of this XM has to use repeaters in big cities to keep from having hiccups in reception. My guess would...

    U.s.a. U.s.a. U.s.a.

The Ryder Cup is finally back on this side of the pond. What an exciting day to be an American golf fan, and the players provided no shortage of story lines to follow. The brash, confident youngster Anthony Kim totally pummels Sergio Garcia in the day's first match. Kentucky natives Kenny Perry...

I've come to terms with the fact that I'll never see the Lions in a Superbowl. My fear is that my children won't either.

    Who is at Fault?

I laugh when I hear the term "preditory lending". It sounds like the big, bad wolf hiding in the bushes waiting to pounce. I guess you have to call it something. But, there's no ambush. It's just two parties entering into an agreement. Someone can't afford that big house on the hill, someone...
