    Thank You Mr. President!!!!

Quote from the man himself: "I don't know what I'll do about Iraq, but I'll tell you this... I have a plan!" I seem to hear this on just about everything he talks about. He has a plan but it is a secret..........Where has that come up before? Davekc

    too high?

I wouldn't sweat too many bullets unless your not maintaining the engine. We just rebuilt a flatbed with over 900,000 miles, on a 3126. We recently ran into another Panther driver that had over 700,000 on his. We currently have 350,000 on ours and have had no problems short of a blown...

    Hotels

It will probably vary at times because you have to find one that has suitable parking. There doesn't seem to be a consistent chain with regards to truck parking. I personally like drury inn, how ever not all have truck parking. Davekc

    Journal of an Expedite Driver

The latest I have heard is that they pay a D truck 1.15 on pc miler instead of the HHG they use to use. They are probably growing alittle now, but they lost a large percentage of their fleet when things went south with GM. They had alot of problems in their operations but they have fired and...

    MBE 900 Engine - MPG?

I think you are right on the money, 9 to 10 with an automatic would be my expectation with that motor. Davekc

    Which companies allow Super-B Vans..

While I don't know all the specifics, there was a gut running a ford truck with the unicell box and he was under 10,000 lbs. and didn't log. He had a sleeper ect. It was a dually with a complete flat floor. He posts ocassionally on here but I can't remember his name. Davekc

    Definitely better than expected

As far as I'm concerned, Kenworth is the only way to go I couldn't agree more:) Davekc

    Which companies allow Super-B Vans..

As earlier indicated, both Panther and Landstar are currently using this setup. I would contact the respective recruiters for additional imformation. Davekc

    Journal of an Expedite Driver

Good luck, and look forward to your journal. Over the past year it appears Tri-Stste has made alot of positive moves. It seems they have revamped about every part of the operation. Let us know how it goes. Davekc

No matter the company, no one should sit 12 days to wait on a load. If you do, it is your fault, not the company. Move to another location for freight or find another company. Seems pretty simple? Davekc

    MBE 900 Engine - MPG?

Anything over 11 mpg. with a 6 speed auto is a stretch. A 10 speed auto shift would probably get you to that number, and possibly 12 mpg.

    too high?

I prefer the dyno tests on used equipment because oil samples are inconclusive. You as the buyer don't know how many miles are on the oil or the test. I can make an oil sample appear anyway that I want. Generally it takes months of tests to determine results from oil samples. You will seldom...

    reliable truck

Any driver I have ran into over the past year that has the M2 has had problems. Some I have known the year and some not. I have yet to see a positive review on this truck. Maybe it is better with a cat or cummins engine? Seems like freightliner has had their hands full with all the listed...

    too high?

Price seems alittle high. We have had much better luck with the cats verses the cummins. You will get alot of different opinions. And both are problably better than the mercedes based on posts to date. I would whether from a private owner or dealer, have a reputable shop run a dyno test to...

    Team Van or Straight Truck?

I agree that any team out there should be real busy. My preference would be a straight truck. If things slow down you will have more flexability ect. with a straight truck. Davekc

    Definitely better than expected

If you are having the work done in Houston, I would highly recommend taking it to a Sterling dealer. Several years ago we had on more than one occassion, very poor service from Houston Freightliner. We had a truck in their shop for over a month just to fix a a/c unit. Had to fly my team back to...

    Inverter

Prosine are top of the line inverters. We have one and it has been trouble free for years. As the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for" Completely different inverter than the garbage available at truckstops. Ask someone who has had their truck catch fire and burn up. Davekc

No forced dispatch, what that really means?

We follow alot of things before accepting a load. Length of run is not as important as the DH to get to it followed by the DH on the end. As fuel prices keep ticking up, we find that we must scrutinize our runs much closer. While fuel surcharges ect are climbing, they are not keeping pace with...

    Question on DOT medical exam.

Just a quick note. Some carriers now, including my own will only accept a physical from certain clinics. I would always check with your carrier to make sure they accept you clinic or physician. Davekc
