AC, CableTV, Xbox: What is Poverty in the U.S. Today?

Many make excuses. Many get caught up in the idea that they cannot make it. It can happen fast and easy. The MORE "help" given, the faster that occurs. They are getting $35 per lawn where my dad lives. They are SMALL yards. It is EASY to do 10 a day, that is GOOD MONEY! We could not find a...

I have no problem with some of those programs either. I have a GREAT problem when people are on them for YEARS or a lifetime.

You REALLY have NO idea how stubborn I can be. I will always have work. There are ways. My buddy, who lives in PA, QUIT his job. He started an entire NEW career. He is in his late 40's early 50's, can't remember for sure. He now deals blackjack at a casino in WV. He did this DURING this...

If you CAN make on your own you are a threat to their power. That is why they keep pumping out the "programs". Makes it easier to control people if they are supported by the kind government.

What program are you talking about? Goodwill? That is NOT a government program, it is a PRIVATE charity. People shopping there provide JOBS for many who cannot find them. When people use that type of store it is a win win for everyone involved. Do you understand the idea of a basic food...

    Hos force Majuer?

If I am stopped my EOBR reverts to "on duty" I can sit in that temporary parking lot and NOT be using driving hours. I am, however, using up my 14 hour clock. THAT is often a greater factor limiting my work than the 11 hour rule is.

I don't have to PROVE anything and I won't shut up. I AM earning a living when I was often told that I could not. I HAVE been without work and either FOUND work or MADE it. I move to England to work. What ever it takes. Why should I have to PARK MY TRUCK? It is MY way of earning a living and I...

NO laws need to be passed. You buy what you can afford with YOUR money that YOU earn. IF you (not you in particular, generic you) are on welfare, you don't get cookies. Those are NOT needed for life. those are LUXURIES! Clothing is EASY to get for cheap. Go to the Goodwill. We have, many...

GOOD ONE! Nothing wrong with earning an honest living. There is also NOTHING wrong with wanting to keep the fruits of my hard labor. As it is I put almost $.40 out of every dollar I earn into taxes. That is just SO WRONG! Then, when you look at that idea that almost 40% of the people in this...

I think you are totally missing the point. The basics today are EXACTLY what they were in 1850 and 1970. Proper food, clean water, proper clothing and a roof over your head. Cookies are NOT needed for life. IF you can afford them, fine. Can't afford them? Grand ma can buy the gifts if she...

Our truck made well over 171,000 last year. Even after expenses we live quite well. Fat and happy. The ONLY fly in the pie is the oppressive taxes that inhibit our ability to truly get ahead. There is NO SUCH THING as "fair and equal" Wait for that and you will always be broke. It is the...

AC, CableTV, Xbox: What is Poverty in the U.S. Today?

Birthday and Christmas presents are NOT needed for life. They are, in fact, a luxury. One should always provide for the needed things in life first. One can die of starvation. NO ONE has ever died from not getting a birthday present. One should NOT be allowed to purchase luxury items with...
