RE: FECC
I think it is rediculous that a company even makes that kind of a load offer.
On a side note, I agree with you that many take loads at all costs only to find they are broke months later. A very large percentage as well don't really know what it costs per mile to run their truck.
Seems...
RE: Expediter Rated Truck Service for Freightliner
Fleetnet is somewhat simular to KW-assist. Kenworth will use it's dealer network first then it goes to other repair facilities if dealer is closed ect. They handling towing as well.

I understand most of your post (A-Team) but it doesn't indicate what generally most would want. Your situation is unique as you sold off your assets to pursue expediting. As an average, most would not be willing to do that. You also mentioned 100 percent turnover. I agree with you and alot of...
RE: FECC
Based on the above, I'm glad I am not at Fed Ex. It sounds like game playing that only the carrier and a select few benefit.
.48 cents per mile? That is not enough to start the truck and get it out of a parking spot.

RE: Expediter Rated Truck Service for Freightliner
I would limit it initially to repair facilities by state. Maybe indicating whether it is a dealer or independent garage.
It should also be mentioned what type of truck the customer has as well. If for example, you have a Mack and you are...
RE: Expediter Rated Truck Service for Freightliner
I think the idea has great merit. That being said, a program of the type would take some planning (as Lawrence indicated) and would have to be implemented in the proper way. It would seem you would need something generalized or some type of...
Depending on the climate, especially going from a warm climate to cold, condensation that freezes could be an issue. The old timer is right for the time. Older trucks that go 4 MPG did return fuel faster to the tank. Newer trucks return the fuel at a much slower rate. As some still do it, you...

I think Lawrence is right on with a team running an ad. There are so many companies and owners looking for teams that it turns to "season of the vultures" when one becomes available. That is why I thought it necessary to ask what teams are looking for so owners ect can tailor there ads...
Very good post. As trucking in general is evolving, the key areas that you addressed will have to start being looked at. That goes for companies as well as owners. Driver retention will have to take on more of a priority because just finding good drivers or worse yet teams, seems to be almost...
In the new age of technology, I don't think it matters whether your accountant is local or not. There is a current article on here by PBS tax and bookkeeping and they are very knowledgable. They offer software as well for you to keep track of everything ect. You can then send them the disk and...
Proheat is a great unit. It works well for trucks with 72" sleeper or less. If sleeper is larger, it will not keep up in any extreme climates. In that case, go with a generator and a roof air unit like coleman,duo-therm or carrier

Surprisingly not much different. They generally would use flyingj or loves unless nothing else was available. If not, some of the large truckload carriers offer incentives to control any driver habits.

Mr and Mrs. I would have to agree with you. Kerry's icon seems to be Ted Kennedy and that in itself is enough for me to vote for Bush.
He may talk a good game but action speaks louder than words.

No Problem. That was the kind of information that I was trying to reference to. Alot of the o/o's with that criteria($1300 a wk for a single driver) would be in trouble based on current conditions. Namely, high fuel costs and rates remaining somewhat stagnant. That number would be obtainable on...
Mine has a plate on it that says Holland, but no numbers. I will have to wait until I get home to get the little book that came with it. If anyone remembers, they had these at the Mid America truck show in Louisville. C and J in Houston is who did mine. Another possibility if in the midwest...
Our landing gear is three feet behind the wheels. If the slope is upward, instead of 2" ground to landing gear, you would have to adjust. In that case, maybe it would require 5 or 7 inches on that particular dock. The only time you would have to go higher is if you are backing in a dock, and you...
Remember that even though you may be fast approved, you must have the bridge pass to use the left lanes in Sarnia coming into the US. That applies whether you are loaded or empty. They want their $5.00 dollars and there are no cash registars in these left lanes. You will be oked by customs, but...
