    Which EO Members...

Like the flu, spontaneous combustion can occur up to three days after exposure to certain EO members . . .:D

    Which EO Members...

I confess. Met up with ChefDennis earlier today at the "J" in Laredo. We have gone to our secret location to wait for a load so we probably won't see anyone else for a while.

    Whirlwind Express

Clearly WW is undercapitalized and is comfortable assigning it's business risks to its drivers. Any driver that agrees to that is, in my humble opinion, going to get worse and worse terms/performance from WW (or any other similarly operating company). That said, WW makes a good point. As long...

    Commercial Vans Survey

Thinking about the timing of this survey, and the fact the Ford Transit is coming to North America in 2013, its obvious why now. The Ford Transit is a true world platform, with numerous efficient engines, heights, length, payload, and body configurations. Learning about the Transit has...

    Commercial Vans Survey

I'm sure that they have their reasons but they are asking us to tell them what we think, presumably because they want to build something that works better for us. If not, they should be taking their survey back in Europe and just ignor the North American opinion, just like they obviously did...

    Whirlwind Express

In my humble opinion, everyone would do better to avoid all slow pay carrier/brokers. Its just a very clear indication of bad things like undercapitalization, poor business practices, poor money management, and unethical business plans. No matter how you cut it, drivers don't exist to fund...

    Commercial Vans Survey

I'd make it 54" wide inside (narrower overall) for highway fuel economy, and at least 16' long cargo area, 10,000 GVW with ONLY 4 WHEELS and 54" between the wheelwells, even if it meant flares at the back wheels. Number one would be an all aluminum body for increased weight capacity with a...

    Automotive Stackable Container Height?

Stock chassis but special 10,000 GVW. It's not in the public order guides but is availalbe.

    Shore Power

I'm sure it's not a new E-1 program. However, a savy national truckstop might consider such a program . . . with either pay for 24 hours electric or maybe exchange for shower credit. I could see that increasing fuel purchases at any chain that might put such a program in.

    Automotive Stackable Container Height?

Yes, at least that much between the wheelwells. It could be more than that by switching to the regular E350 single wheels but I don't think it would garner any more loads to be 60" wide between the wheelwells. Our 3500 Sprinter is 59" wide (because we cut the wheelwells and put in a short...

    Sprinter Cargo Hold Dimensions

Logging starts @ 10,001 lbs GVW which either the 2002-2006 158" wheelbase (13'6" interior length) or the 2007 & newer 170" wheelbase (15'5" interior length for the extended) 2500 models are well under. The 2500 model is going to be less GVW, the 2007 & newer being 8,550 I think. We cut our...

Wide Single Rims - Best Place to Buy?

I'd try Regina @ Spitz Auto Parts 800.255.2052. They did a fine job getting me Alcoa Aluminum Duals for my 2006 3500 complete with centers and lug caps. She'll treat you right.

    Automotive Stackable Container Height?

I may stop @ 16'4" inside just to save a bit of weight, although the chassis is probably good out to 17'6" at least. I've looked for the right air dam and its tough to find one for the narrow box width I'm looking at, unless I want to tool one which is pricey. I'm building this one and, if...

    Automotive Stackable Container Height?

The wheelbase is 176" converted from duals to single rear wheel with (as I said before) EXACTLY 10,000 GVW with a real FORD GVW sticker slapped on. No logs. It will work.

    LP hybrid conversions

I believe the biggest problem is the fuel storage. I seem to recall that it takes a much larger and heavier constructed tank to haul the same energy. I think that's why we don't see everyone rushing to it for all vehicles.

    Automotive Stackable Container Height?

Thanks for getting back to my original question! I am very curious if there would be a benefit to going taller? My dispatch says that, although taller stackable containers would fit, they tend to go right to straight trucks beyond the "normal Sprinter" load, because they usually don't look for...

    Automotive Stackable Container Height?

Not in that case, Ford actually does the downrate. Its not in the online order guide but your dealer's spec book offers it. Word.

    Automotive Stackable Container Height?

I think they slap stickers on all of them. Actually, the 12,400 and 10,000 GVW 6 wheelers are EXACTLY the same, except the sticker. It ain't so unusual to downgrade GVW with just a new sticker.
