    Generators

Yes I am converting it. Cost is roughly $300.00 to $400.00. It is a two part process if you have a allison. First step is for Allison to obtain the CIN number and torque ratings. Done quickly, and then the paperwork is mailed to the manufacturer of the truck. The paperwork takes a week or two...

    Freightliner of Knoxville

While not our first truck purchase with them, this was our first with Jon Mosier. Others were through Dan Schultz. It was a quick and pleasant experience short of a title issue. Sometimes even paying cash has a few complications. The title was held up because Fedex failed to make a pickup at...

    interviewing process

With regards to carriers, talking to their respective recruiters is the first step. Second, I would look for owners that lease to that company. Lastly of course would be the orientation. I always think some type of "meeting" is good to ensure that your expectations are the same as the fleet...

    class 8 straight truck

A class 8 on the ground is a rare commodity. Freightliner of Knoxville Stoops Freightliner are the only ones that may have something on the ground in something greater than a 72" sleeper. The above and Fyda have them but not in a 84" or larger sleeper. That is of last week. Be prepared for at...

    Good company to work for?

Oh boy, $300.00 for two days of insurance and $300.00 for orientation? I can't wait to see the line signing up for that experience. As mentioned, every story is a horror story. Davekc owner 21 years

    interviewing process

I would initially review the archives on this site as it will cover many of your questions. It will also give you a basis to form very specific ones. AZ is alittle off the beaten path. If it is warmth in the winter you are seeking, Florida or Texas is your best bet. Many fleet owners from...

    New HOS and teams?

Once again I have a feeling there will be a return back to "creative logging". I think it will take some awhile to adjust. This is a token for PATT, CRASH and the ATA. ATA certainly didn't want the black boxes either. Remember, this is the same bunch that eight months ago said there was...

    cargo box flooring

Unless there is alot of oil on the floor, the diamond plate should be sufficient for traction. We have had ours with snow and water on the floor and it didn't seem in these incidences to have any effect with regards to surface traction. Davekc

    The (not quite) ultimate expediter

That's a Volvo VN Series with a 186" ARI Legacy Custom sleeper. Gotta love it! Mike in SW Ohio I would go alittle bigger and run it as a "B" unit.:7 Davekc

    PANTHER II

Fact: the fleet owner he claims to have received preferential treatment while driving for he was with less than 2 months. If it was such a gravy train Floyd, I mean Axis, why did you get off? Blow some more smoke if you feel the need. Facts make a great fan for clearing the air. I find it...

    Fleet Owners

Some things are the same and some aren't. I would in addition to this site, find specific sites that deal in hauling containers. That would provide you with case specific information. Glad to have you aboard as you will find many helpful tips and ideas here. Davekc

    teaming a "C"

RE: C's RULE !!!!!!!!!! If distance to the shipper is equal and a "C" pulled in long after there was several "D" units there, what would be the point in offering it to the "C"? In many cases regardless of the carrier, a "D" owner has invested more $$$$ to buy that truck. This seems like a...

    sink

On our ICT it just runs out on the ground (sink) You could plumb it into the shower holding tank which would be ideal if at a truck show inside or something. As far as the shower, we usually would leave it open, especially in the summer. Shower water with soap and shampoo running out of the...

    Cummins ISC Durability

OK my cats don't look too bad with one at 900,000 plus before a rebuild, and the red KW is at 500,000 and running well. Then again, I just might be lucky? Just bought another one last week. Someone say a prayer for me.:7 Davekc
