If one is to fail at Panther it is because they respond to issues as a employee would, verses a business owner.
Businessman first, driver second.

Unless you have a large sleeper or a need for unusually high electrical needs, You can find units for $6,000 to $7,000.
Many units are well under the $10,000 price tag.

RE: Revenue Potential of Tractor vs. Straight Truc
The "name brand" companies have the majority of customers and freight.
That usually doesn't happen by accident.
With their total amount of trucks, the majority must be making money.
If not, then they wouldn't be "name brand"
Something to...

Some will let you pick, but some come with major challenges. Most notably is front axle weight. Wrong engine because of weight, all the way to moving fuel tanks back ect.
You are correct in that there are substancial savings if one can overcome all of the obstacles.

We have built many trucks from the ground up and haven't done these types of conversions.
Many go into these builds or conversions and they turn into a disaster.
As to whether they are over priced depends on how you are looking at them. On face value they have a considerable mark up.
For the...
If they are stating you must remain with them for a period of time, that would move you to a employee status. You at that point fail to meet the requirements of a independent contractor.
Panther is only referring people to Fyda if they don't have a truck or are in the market for a new or used...
For the benefit of the new folks, have her discuss it here. Why keep it a secret?
Same with Leo's truck build. I applaude him for sharing his experience which is beneficial to all.
Funny he didn't feel the need to keep it a "secret" for years on end.
Congrats on your new ride.

Bug & tar remover will work. Test in a small location to ensure no discoloration. Wax afterwords.
If a stronger item is needed, they make a remover by 3M. Expensive but it works. Available at most autobody supply stores.

It would be easier to carry a small step ladder for the few times that you can't use the lift to get into the box. I would keep it low level.

Duval system is $1500 I believe. It is air bags between the frame and leaf springs. That cost or value would have to be weighed against the age of the truck to determine if it is a path to proceed on.

Gotta go with ATeam on this one. He is correct. State laws will override any federal statute. We found that out in South Carolina. The red KW came in right at 40 ft with their officers out there with a tape measure. They were looking at total length.
When asked if we had a gate or installed...
Many of the west coast straights have a freight door on the side with a ladder. Ugly but practical and don't affect the length.
They are great in the summer to cool the box when loading or unloading ect.

They are made by Hendrickson. They are available on Freightliners, Western Stars, and I believe Volvos.
Most have said they do improve the ride.
Duval makes a aftermarket for spring suspensions. There are several others but cater more to the RV market.

We have been with several companies over the years and made changes when it was necessary. Loss of a major account and one being bought out by another company provided the changes.
As far as how long to stick with a carrier would depend on many factors. Many can be eliminated prior to signing on...
If you have a concern on additional length, I would consider a leyman gate. Most can be configured on your existing truck without a deck plate ect.
Here is a link with that info.

Great link. Certainly a place to pay attention to if you are building or specing a truck.
Many have failed here and bad things have happened.
