Good News For 2006 Panther II Drivers (Rumor)

As mentioned above, no one in the Panther offices has equipment. That will put that ongoing debate to rest. They are changing how there offices and dispatch operates along with a new phone dispatch system. They have also added some new people that I think will be a great benefit. There are some...

Fleet meeting last week had a lot of great information and news. Looks like much of it will happen over the next 30 days except QC. QC changes sounded like they would be phased in over 6 months. Alot of trucks to do. Davekc

    Driver wanted/available ads...

Some of it would depend on the carrier and what arrangement you have with your respective owners. If you run say 3,000 paid miles a week @ $1.20, that would be $3600 plus fuel surcharge. Average surcharge from EO members is .18 cents per mile or $540. So....18 x 9 mpg is $1.62 Fuel @ $2.42...

    Driver wanted/available ads...

If a team is running your 120 hours per week average, they should be making much more than your examples of income. If not, they are with the wrong carrier. Forgot to ad, this is factoring in that it is a TT or SS. A van may be a different story. Davekc owner 21 years

    A Tale of two engines

I am with Rich on this one. If running it a year or so, the Cat would be pretty reliable. My opinion would shift to a Cummins if you are going to run it for a extended period of time. Ease of rebuild and cost would be the major factors. Resale at say 400,000 will be simular so no real advantage...

    Truck Financing?

The truck you are talking about is in AR....correct. At $125,000, you will struggle to find a bank that will finance it without a sizable down payment. There are exceptions of course, but they will likely involve a solid relationship with a bank. Davekc

You really answered your own question. The companies that have the largest freight base will move you the easiest barring they aren't over populated with your vehicle choice. Good luck on your choice. Davekc

    Kinda peeved at panther2

If it was offered 12 hours prior to pickup, you should have turned it down. It wouldn't have been a refusal either. I am under the assumption you were paid for the dry run? Anything else should have been asked of contractor relations or a dispatch supervisor. As far as frequency of occurance...

Do H/W teams prosper in Sprinters?

I don't run vans but the revenue and load opportunities will be considerably higher in a straight truck verses a Sprinter. In fact, the numbers likely won't be close. Davekc owner 21 years
