What is some funny stuff you seen while driving.

RE: What is some funny stuff you seen while drivin A non-English speaking security guard chasing my truck when I pulled out onto the street, waving his arms, & yelling - which was funny only because he couldn't catch me, though it was pretty close through the first 8 gears! (I couldn't...

Any one missing a P2 truck?

Last month, I noticed a Panther van had been sitting, with headlights on, for more than 24 hrs, so I knocked on the door. The driver was ok, watching tv in the back, and glad to know that someone cared about his welfare. I'm not sure what I'd have done if he hadn't answered, probably inquired at...

    Handicapped drivers

I've been known, when observing a person of average or better agility parking in a handicapped space, to leave a Post-it note on the windshield, saying: "Ignorance IS a handicap, but it's not what the sign meant!" Like Louixo, and many others, I'm sure, I park a long walk away, & feel grateful...

    Handicapped drivers

A few days ago, I transferred a load to another driver, who had a handicapped placard hanging from the rearview mirror. In the interest of full disclosure: the driver is the owner I began expediting driving with. She used a handicapped tag then too, (which belonged to her mother, she said, when...

One to sing loud (& off key)

Packmule: DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT CHANGING THAT LAST LINE!! I was enjoying your lyrics, but when I got to the last line, well, I'm still wiping Diet Coke off the monitor! Highway Star: There aren't enough Margaritas in the universe to get me to sing - except when I'm driving, cause like George...

I'd say: if he hasn't read the answers to that question after three years - maybe he should read more than the Loading Dock forum? :+

    Sprinter Killer

Every van I looked at when looking for an expedite vehicle, left me wishing that Toyota built one, and knowing that I'd really miss the Corolla (my Corollerskate, lol) that I'd be giving up. I've owned a lot of vehicles, all Detroit steel, and often thought that the best explanation for the...

    Expediters Hall of Fame

If an Expediter of the Month (or quarter, or whatever) is something people would like to do, the moderators could nominate, & the members could vote. The biggest problem I can see, is where to put the designated parking space that "Best Whatever of the Month" always gets....:+ :7

    INFO ON DUI

While I totally agree that 90% of DUIs are repeat offenders, & should be penalized with a sledgehammer, I have to admit that there are those first time offenders who don't need to have their livelihood denied, in order to learn their lesson. Particularly since dumb luck plays such a major role...

In this situaion, you would do...........

Danny: first, I'd like to say congratulations (not the word I want, really, but it'll do) for trying to work your way out of a problem, instead of slide out of it. That says that EGL is lucky to have you, & if Co.2 doesn't see that, it's their loss. What I would do, about the second run, is...

    Where Are Van Drivers

Danny is right - there is a need for vans, a lot of smaller stuff has to get there quick, too. Bigger doesn't mean better, right? There are drivers who seem really anxious to work, too, until they've done it for a couple weeks - then you have to go get your vehicle back from wherever they left...

You have to see - warning political graphic

I guess the "hidden message" went right over my head, but one thing stood out - it took 30 YEARS for the wage to get up to $11 an hour? And people still think unions have led this country to ruination?!

    Where Are Van Drivers

Looks like the problem here is the term "financial statements" - if that means settlements from the carrier, I agree with Thawk, the driver is entitled to see them, & may spot items the owner overlooked (especially if the owner is running more than one driver). But if "financial statements"...

Daughters and Dads things to do

My 16 yr old daughter & her many friends actively (to say the least) enjoy a variant called "Padiddle" (have no idea if that's how it's spelled, & neither does Spellcheck) involving vehicles with one headlight out, & I wonder: is this a regional thing? Moot: Punch buggy! No punch backs! (My...

    Identifying myself.

Hope the gloves help you avoid eating the junk food that adds size to some drivers - cause with that sleeper, you can't afford to gain an ounce, lol. :P Great photo, though, thanks for posting it. :)

    Where Are Van Drivers

Of course the fuel prices are keeping drivers away, though there may be some who are just waiting until prices go down some. Plus, 60% of the revenue from a van isn't enough to pay expenses, for many people - but there are some who can make it work, so you may find a driver yet. The nutjobs...
