That's good to know, as apparently some shippers & carriers don't seem to know it...I'd much rather take the dry run, than the risk.

    The Latest in Tattoos

The tattoos may be up to the minute, (yukk!), but the implants are used medically, when more skin is required for grafting, like over burn tissue, than a person can spare. So every implant may not be what it looks like...(But I'd be willing to bet that some of those people are exactly what they...

    Expediters Retreat

If it works, I'd like one by the lake. If it doesn't work out, can I have the llama? :D

    "New Driver Fee"

An escrow account is something an owner is entitled to insist on, but if the purpose of the money withheld isn't clear to the driver, (do they not have a contract? Did they not read the contract?), then the driver needs to be a little more inquisitive, sounds like. :o

Can an inhalation hazard be hauled in a van with a solid bulkhead wall? Or does that make no difference?

    Fuel taxes added by states

I found this chart in USA Today last week, & have found it to be helpful when running through several states, but I can't get it to attach here, so if anyone would like a copy emailed, send me a pm, please. (Include directions on how to attach files, if you'd like to, as well, lol) I've already...

    Introduction,and questions.

Welcome, Truck Monkey!(I like the silly name):D I am a van o/o, not looking for a codriver, but will try to help clarify things for you. You can drive solo in any size unit, with a CDL A, the choice is yours - but you didn't mention whether you have Hazmat endorsement, which some carriers...

    Only in California...

And that's one of the reasons we keep tuning in to "As the (expediters) Wheels Turn" - good old fashioned American debate! :7 Teehee :7

Terry: These guys are known for enjoying challenges, so I think if they decide to trick a van, it oughtta be a Dodge :P And I just happen to know where they can find one, lol ;)

    OK CREDIT

And if all that isn't persuasive enough: don't forget that drivers can occasionally need repair too - I got sick a few months ago, had to go to a "doc in the box" out of state, didn't drive for almost 2 weeks, had to go to a local doctor when I got home, because I hadn't got better, and it ended...

    Training a co-driver

RE: Don't try and go into business RE: Training a Well, I feel better now, lol - I posted that you should forget it, because he seemed to think it was a road trip, not work, & one hour later, you posted that he had cleaned up his act - boy, did I feel stupid! x( It woudn't have mattered if...

    Roadside Inspections

Keep your log current! (It helps if it's also neat) because that's usually the first thing they want to see - if it looks questionable, they'll look harder at everything else. All paperwork, such as permits, & personal documentation, like the long form medical certificate, accessible. Shipping...

    I have one question

I used to have a list posted of the "canned" Qualcomm messages, taped to the headliner for quick reference, but now, having learned them, I've switched to a list of units, numbers, and usernames, so I will maybe recognize someone when I do see them - and I put the EO bumpersticker on my back...

    more noob questions

Hi Jack_Berry: Linda is correct - driving team is just like being married, there's no "one way", you work out an arrangement that pleases you both. You said that your wife goes off & on her job, but how does she feel about driving a big truck? If it's something she wants to do, then she won't...

    Is It Jet Lag?

TJ - it IS 'jet lag', (aka situational disorientation)! The rhythm of the road is quite different from life at home, and we need a bit of time (some more than others, cause we're all like snowflakes - the same, but different) to adjust to the differences. Jet lag is more than being in a...

    Training a co-driver

RE: Don't try and go into business RE: Training a Dieselphreak: you have seen that he isn't interested in learning what a codriver needs to know, and you don't particularly need a codriver, so save the friendship, if you want - but don't make yourself crazy trying to turn a pig's ear into a...

    Canada border crap

I understand that Customs has the right to tear your vehicle apart if they wish, and it's never a good idea to be anything other than politely honest with them, but the original question was about whether the driver kept guns in his home, not his truck. I don't see the relevance to the question...

    An interesting study

A recent National Science Foundation study found a correlation between the size of the balls in recreational activities, and the income of the recreants (if that's the word I want) Unemployed or incarcerated people prefer basketball. Maintenance level people enjoy bowling. Front line employees...
