I think that probable inability to make the scheduled pickup on time, for whatever reason, is a valid reason to turn down a load. If the pick up can be delayed to allow a reasonable amount of time, dispatch will say so - if not, I don't want to be blamed for failure to achieve the impossible...

I agree with Linda Caffee: it's safer, smarter, and a lot less costly to stick pretty close to the speed limit. If you think it's safe to drive 80, I hope they take your license, because you are endangering everyone around you.

Wouldn't it be great if carriers included the following provision: "Ontime pickup and delivery subject to accurate information" In other words, if the name on the building is not what's on the paperwork, the address is not displayed on the building, and no one answers at the phone number...
