A warm & fuzzy moment, for truckdrivers? Count me in, lol! :P Especial congratulations to Lawrence, for having the vision to start this site, and all who helped keep it on track over the years - 'preciate it.

FedEx CC switchubg to T Check!

RE: RE%3A FedEx CC switchubg to T Check%21 Ok, I know what 'hot fuel' is, but can anyone recommend which TS guide I should get? I don't remember seeing any that included fuel cards accepted.

FedEx CC switchubg to T Check!

RE: RE%3A FedEx CC switchubg to T Check%21 Hawk: which TS guides list the cards accepted? I've been trying to find a list of places that accept ComData, and no one seems to know of one - not even ComData!x( I threw out the TS guides, when I got 'The Next Exit', but it doesn't list accepted...

    The Animal Pen

Urine is sterile, until it leaves the human body, at which time it becomes a biohazard - if you don't believe me, ask Mrs Hawk! :P

Harry Potter and the Flying Expediter

The first Harry Potter book was so long ago, I can't even remember whether my teenager read it first, or I did - we often read the same books, because a good story, like Harry Potter, is a treat for readers of all ages. With the second and third books, I can remember us hiding the books from...

    Getting to the Expo

Sparks: welcome! The bad news is that the only guaranteed way to get to the Expo is to go on your own hook - either deadhead, or go out of service, & catch a plane, train, whatever... The good news is that so many of us find it worth whatever it takes to get there! Hope you can make it, too. :)

    Early or not

Another reason to attempt an early delivery: even if the consignee is not open, if you can't park onsite, and must drive somewhere else to wait, you will know exactly where you're going in the morning, and how much time you'll need to get there. That knowledge might afford you a bit more time to...

    NOWING BUYING FREIGHT LOADS

Mr Wayne: since God has apparently guided you to care about only yourself now, can you offer any reason as to why the rest of us should care about you, or your opinions? I mean, if you don't care about the rest of us, what are you doing here?

    dot inspections

It seems that a truck is singled out for inspection according to what the inspector wants to accomplish: either citations, or an easy one to fulfill the required number of inspections. The former will choose a truck that looks messy & uncared for, while the latter would choose a truck that looks...

    Have you seen this expediter?

This is my current home away from home. A white star has been added on the driver's door, and on the barn door, a bumpersticker for 'Sven & Ole's', which just appeared there, as if by magic, after a recent short layover in Minneapolis. :o

Good Times, Good Food - You're Invited...

Excellent, Rich - now we'll get to see how many pancakes Dave can stuff into his mouth at once, and how many Lawrence can get into yours, too! ;)

Heads Up On Husky Fuel Stops!

As the "greatest" is a subjective term, you guys are gonna have to agree to disagree - which you're welcome to do on the Soapbox Forum.

    backing up

Congratulations! Competition involving driving skill is something I'd like to see a lot more of, because it's competition that's good for everyone. No matter who wins the actual event, everyone wins! Hats off to the carriers that not only want their drivers to be good, but help them to achieve it.

    not sure

I can't see where identifying the carrier would add anything helpful to the subject, really - it's not their fault, is it?

    Insurance Scam

Thanks, India, for alerting us to a possible danger we probably didn't know of. I'm sorry to hear about the damage to you, and the expensive equipment - hope it all gets better soon. I especially like the idea of a signal, from driver to partner, warning of an impending quick stop - it could...

    not sure

TS, you've been a member here for several months - did you not ever read the many posts that advise researching a move BEFORE you make it? I am sorry to sound harsh about it, but come on - didn't you know what you were moving into? After you've jumped is not the right time to check out the...

    Over a year here too!

As one of the ones who didn't think a "Women's Forum" was a good idea, I humbly admit that I was wrong, and thanks to Linder, for not listening to me. What I thought was that this is a working site, we're all drivers, and we all face the same challenges and problems every day - but there ARE...

    you guys are whooses!

What I'd like to know is this: if drug testing is such a valuable tool to promote everyone's safety, why aren't political leaders & corporate heads drug tested? Is the job they get paid to do not considered important enough to ensure that they're doing it with a clear head? I don't think the...

    Tip/Trick: Overflow bottles for trucks

Thanks, Neon - and some pics would be appreciated, too. It's hard to believe that a Gatorade plastic bottle would hold up, in the heat under the hood, but recycling is a good idea, I would think. Since I really don't know much about it, if it's not a good idea, someone who knows will post it...
