Did I miss the CARB post???

I've searched the CARB site till my eyes cross, and one question remains. It says: "Engines that are model year 2006 or earlier may use any California or Federally certified APU's" but does not say how to determine, or obtain certification. Anyone know about certification?

I feel totally lost in cyberspace, cause I don't have (& can't find) my Roadrunner avatar now - do I hafta find a new one? This is a LOT of change to spring on us old folks, even if we are called 'junior members' now, ya know? I had only just fallen in love with Turtle's adorable new avatar...

    Meteor showers

Well, I didn't get to see them either - the first night, I was in Albuquerque, and the next, in Los Angeles - two places where the ambient light is overwhelming. I have sat up all night to catch the Leonids, though, and they are awesome. (But not when you're rolling!)

    Steering away from Expediting

Rich, what we (my fellow chatters & I) do is send a text message, if it's after 11pm, asking "R U up?" because if they aren't, it generally won't wake them.

    Steering away from Expediting

Most of my driving is at night, by choice, if I have one. I prefer the road less crowded for driving, and the truckstops & rest areas less crowded for sleeping in the morning. (I just wish the trucks wouldn't park in the fuel lanes at night, as they often do). How I deal with long night drives...

And some of you want truckers with guns?

Being not quite as old as dirt, I wasn't driving truck 25 -30 yrs ago, but I had a CB even so. Truckers were known as White Knights, and generally acted accordingly. They'd even help out a fourwheeler, and do it without 'looking down' on them - well, except literally, of course. Now that I...

Driver with a 10 yrs old felony

Has this ever happened to you?

Leo: I wonder if it's a bad sign, when the "Contact Garmin Support" page says it's unavailable, due to maintenance or heavy demand? Hmmm. Turtle: With no off-on switch, I unplugged it, but the screen remained frozen, till the battery died, I guess. (I didn't watch it all night, cause I fell...

Mexico Border Program Funding Runs out

I personally think the FMCSA ranks right up there with a couple other agencies created to "enhance security": Federal Air Transportation Airport Security Services and: Airport Security Services Home Office Logistics Enhancement Section Their insistence on pushing...

Posts we would like to forget (AKA dumb posts)

I'm not even gonna try to find it, but my very favorite asked the question "What are landing gear for?" (From someone who just got the keys to a D Unit, & was waiting on the first load offer!) I'm very proud of myself for resisting the urge to reply with "This is expediting - sometimes we...

Has this ever happened to you?

Yesterday, my Garmin had a frozen screen, for quite awhile. Actually, until the battery died, I guess, because I unplugged it, and nothing changed. The top half of the screen had a map, (without enough info to identify the location), the center had a toolbar, and the bottom had what looked like...

    2007 Darwin Awards

I'm still wondering why the Zimbabwean bus driver (#4) would even be in contention for an award - his ingenious solution merits a raise, IMO. Here's a guy who can think creatively under pressure! (And presumably under the influence of alcohol, too - impressive!) I'm just saying...:7

Help truck stop caused my truck to blow up

Bee, you asked if anyone knows of a lawyer - if you talk to one, you and your drivers need to be honest. I mention this because you said on Dec 27th that this is your first post, but you posted the exact same thing on Nov 27 (in the Tech Forum). And the story your drivers are telling just...

I would think that a non driving related felony would be easier to get by with - try Transportation Design, in Ohio.

    Who's Running This Christmas Day?

Picked up 2 loads in Los Angeles on Friday, one for Minneapolis, the other for Virginia Beach. I got to choose which one to deliver, so I met another truck in Oklahoma City, and transferred the freight for Minnesota, lol. Note: Virginia is not a bad place to get dinner on Christmas - they do...

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OUR FORUM MEMBERS!

Same to all, from me, out here on the road. It's the first Christmas I haven't gone home, but the Los Angeles to Virginia Beach load (2730 miles) was just too good to pass up. Hope everyone has a safe and joyful Christmas, wherever you are.

    sleeping

NyQuill does contain alcohol - a better solution for occasional use would be Benadryl (diphenhydramine - generic costs a lot less!), Doctors often prescribe it for elderly people who can't sleep, because it's safe & effective. Julie, your reply to Greg was pretty snippy, when you asked for...
