8.3 cummins white smoking and black when driving

Wash the cylinder? If it is a leaky injector, then yea you would wash the oil off the walls and may end up with fuel in the oil. It is a problem with the head gasket, you will see a drop in your coolant level, may not see anything in the oil (but always check that). Thanks Mcarriers for that...

8.3 cummins white smoking and black when driving

Well Piper may correct me on this one. It could be an injector leaking but it is more likely a head gasket leaking. Is it running rough on idle or under a load? I would first start with checking your oil to see if these is water in it. Then a smell test, if the white smells like radiator...

Why U.S. spy effort is failing badly

Layout, I would defend Bush had it not been for an interview with Cheney and the often missed and ignored comment he made about transition teams and discoveries made in 1999/2000 See the administration knew about the "wall" and didn't do much about it. They continued a lot of the policies of...

    sprinter v ford or chevy

So after reading the latest posts I wondered if Ford ever gets off their a** and brings the Transit to the US market, with a great possibility ending the Econoline series like they did the Crown Vic series, and Chrysler markets the Fiat van to fill the gap that is left by sprinter, and if GM (I...

    156,000 miles per year (MPG)

Got that. it looks like an easy money run. But load times are just on of many factors to consider. How do you figure it is an eight hour ride? If you do hills at 40, that is under your average. You will push the truck and yourself had to maintain a 62.5 mph average during the week. It is...

What would you charge/expect as payment for...

30 cents a mile. Because that is the amount that you could make if you were working a regular job for 40 hours.

    Block Heater

With a meter that measures current. Like one of them $30 horseshoe meters from Harbor freight. If the current is more than say 8 amps, it is working.

Why U.S. spy effort is failing badly

Thanks, Ican tell you one really important flaw in this entire 'spy' thing that is not in that article the fact that an outside think-tank can have access to the people themselves and the people open their mouths about the problems. What happened to the need to know and secrecy? The enemy...

    156,000 miles per year (MPG)

Yes, the kenworth thing is not something that will make a difference in longevity or dependability of the drive train. It is the drivetrain that matters, if it is in a Frieghtliner or a Thomas, it is the key. I don't know of any KW class 6 equal to their class 8. Two different designs and two...

OK I got it, it makes sense. Is there an adjustment to the EPS module for the physical mounting of the unit?

    Customs Fee?

I understand it is the fees collected on the US side where the Mdot and fed DOT has control. Layout, the fees replace the money lost. Tariffs used to support the system and since a lot of revenue isn't there, fees pay for things. I would rather have a sort of self-supporting system than more debt.

    Customs Fee?

Nothing has changed but the guys/gals in the booth have decision making power not to charge it. By the way BWB fees are going up, I think for trucks and cargo vans it will be $3.25 per axle.

    Change?

So there is an "attack" on a plane. The attack failed and the people on the plane reacted. We didn't have an Air Marshal on board to help. The Airlines staff wasn't the one who stopped it. But it was a passenger. So our great leader was on vacation in the lala land of Hawaii - his fifth...

07'- 09' Sprinter Van Rear Leaf Springs

Piper the 07 and newer has ride height sensors or does this use the increase in torque from the engine to determine new shift points for the load?

Thanks, I will add it to my get tools list. I like the idea of finally having the ability to change injectors without the dealer.

Tax lien filed against Arrow Trucking Co.

The original article cited was about a previous court case and bench warrants being issues for non-payment of a settlement, not about taxes. The execs may be liable for the companies debts, so it is a lesson - just because you have a corporation doesn't mean they can't go after your personal...

    156,000 miles per year (MPG)

Sorry but there are a lot of red flags here that a few of us see. Take our advice, some of us have done this work before and know. 156k as a solo is not doable while 120k with a team is. Get the biggest truck you can get, a class 8 will work out a lot better than a 6 or 7. A class 6 is not...
