Looking for some Bolt Express info

I can't believe no one asked Danthewolf why he wants to know how big the dog is - is there a size limit? :D

Can I use my Class B RV as an expediter?

Vicapell: what you're considering is more in the way of courier work - expediting rarely involves envelopes or small packages, it's generally freight, on pallets. As most courier places are local, I don't see how you could do it while roaming the country.

    Freaking out

While I agree that you need to read & understand the contract, I believe you should abide by it, unless it's clearly unreasonable, because it was signed, even if in ignorance. In just 3 months, you will have learned enough, hopefully, to be ready the next time, to sign again, or walk away. It's...

    Freaking out

Well, all you can do now is play catchup. Read everything here on the Newbies & Recruiter Forums, and also, have a talk with the owner, to ask the questions you haven't already. Some of the settlement terms can be explained by asking payroll at Panther, too. What you need is information, and...

    Freaking out

Um, just how much research did the two of you do, before signing that contract? The 60/40 split (60% to whomever pays for the fuel, plus all fuel surcharge) is standard, so yes, you can expect the owner to keep 40% every week. That's not unreasonable, as it's his equipment, and he's responsible...

    Generator

Me too! Of all the problems I had with Panther, almost none were the dispatcher's fault. After hearing about some of the 'irate' drivers y'all have to deal with, I completely understand your wanting to switch, lol. Welcome!:)

    Where is Greg?

I wasn't going to say anything, but since there's so much concern, I think I can say that Greg's ok, (as far as I know) without violating a confidence. He let me know that he intended to take a break from EO a couple weeks ago. He also included his email, which I inadvertently erased, so Greg...

All this time, I thought you were married, lol. :p Every time I meet "Mr Right", his first name is Always, sigh.

Anyone ever lose a load because they had a pet in the truck with them?

I thought so too, TC - maybe you just left everyone speechless, lol. I'm with Jeanie - if a pet were that important to me, (and if I had one it would be), I'd do what I had to do to keep it - but lying is not acceptable.

    Companies and Teams

Moose, I already AM running my own business - owning the truck isn't necessary to do so. I may someday buy a truck, (depending on how much I can save), but whether I do or not, I still run my own business. If not, then no one leased to a carrier does, either, because there are restrictions...

    I'm going crazy

I tried to respond to Broker's request for help in waiting, while feeling as if those of us who are out here Expediting are having all the fun that she's missing, by listing some of the less than fun aspects. If my color/font choice is hard for you to read, I'm sorry, but I prefer it - I find...

    Companies and Teams

IRT: if your point is that teams make more when the money goes to one household, rather than two, that's hardly a news flash - it's been pointed out many times already. I make more running solo (driving for an owner) than I would running team with an insignificant other as a codriver, (to coin a...

    I'm going crazy

He's right, you know: the more thoroughly prepared you are, the better your chances to succeed. That's worth waiting for, isn't it? If you still feel we're out here having all the fun, shall I point out some of the less fun aspects of expediting? Like: customers who don't have an address on...

    Truck Driver stories

I just can't believe that 'Ben & Jerry' story. I was totally buying it, up to the part where the driver exited the restaurant barefoot & shirtless, with coffee in each hand - but we all know the rule: "No shirt & shoes, no service" :p I'm still gonna be checking out knees, though. :D

    The T/T Advantage

There's also that T/T disadvantage: finding somewhere to park that puppy. It was tough when I drove T/T 5 years ago, and it's only getting worse.

    Need your prayers

Wingnut: this is when family matters more than anything else, and I hope yours will have better news soon. People can recover 100% after a stroke - you have every right to hope for a positive outcome, and we'll all be hoping right along with you.

    co driver info

The mileage pay is within reason, (like others said, ask about the accessorials: deadhead, fuel surcharge, layover, detention), and the Workers Comp premiums should be paid by whomever is going to collect the benefits, if the day comes to collect them.

    Thanks to Linder

My rice cooker is a Black & Decker, and I use the steamer basket for holding soapy dishes, waiting for the rinse water, too. When storage space is at a premium, 'multifunctional' is the word I like best. :) When not in use, I hang it in a plastic bag from the closet rod with an S hook - the...
