    Break Down Help

Wonder if Guido's other name is Sybil? Looks like 2 different people posting opposite experiences, eh? For anyone who hasn't had the good luck to meet Gotta Go/Jeanie, I can say that she is solid gold, and we are lucky that she's (finally!) sharing her wealth of info with us here...

Principal says 'O Canada' uproar taken out of context

No worries, mate (to mix the colloquialisms a bit) I believe I used the expression myself the other day, lol. :D And I'm done arguing with you right wingers, you're all just impossible, ok? PS Don't forget: I reserve the right to change my mind.....;)

    And where is Greg334?

Don't know whether 'sage' is the word I'd choose, lol, (I didn't always agree with his advice), but I wish he'd come back, too - his posts were always worth reading.

    Cheerleader

I thought your comment in post 22 was spot on - but I'll try to refrain from agreeing with you for awhile, if you'd prefer. ;)

That showed as much class as what it is - none at all, and contributed even less than your "pm" posts to the discussion. Yes, there are threads where we get silly, but IMO, this wasn't one of them - it's an issue we ought to discuss, with intelligence, if possible. On that note, I agree with OVM.

Nice work, Barb - and I'm glad it was you driving through that, and not me, lol. (Cause I'd probably roll the truck if I tried filming while driving).

    Expediting song of the month?

Music is truly the universal language, when the Chef & I can find common ground, lol. ;) I'd call it 'Expediting song of the day' though, cause my moods can change that often - and these are some I think say it best: Water in the fuel by Fred Eaglesmith (You keep) swervin in my lane by Robert...

D units hauling cargo van freight?

In my experience, the consignee cares only that the freight arrives on time and undamaged. And I agree that eliminating the split sleeper provision has forced many drivers to fudge the books, but common sense got overlooked by the rulemakers, and we just have to deal with the results.

Linder, I agree, but only to a point. You're correct that those who trash their carrier don't make themselves look terribly smart, but the negative has as much value IMO as the praise. Both wannabes and carriers should hear both sides, the better to make informed decisions. What we need to...

    Texas Frieght Massacre

Turtle: lemme see if I got this straight: you think the thread should have been called "Texas dead cat massacre" right? If so, I concur.

D units hauling cargo van freight?

I can't see too many carriers willing to pay a D unit rate, rather than a B unit, just to "keep them happy" - nor can I see D owners accepting B rates, just to keep moving. I believe the freight goes on the closest unit that both fits the requirements (imposed by the shipper) and agrees to take...

D units hauling cargo van freight?

My last load was a B load: 1 pallet, 1200 lbs. But it required a liftgate, so therefore, a D unit. As Wingnut & others stated, if the customer requires dock height, or dual drivers, or temp control, the size of the load is irrelevant - it generally can't be done in a van. PS I don't accept van...

Charges Dropped Against Terrorist Suspected Cole Bomer Mastermind

The Chef & LOS had no problem 'spinning' it to reflect their preconceived notions, eh? Never mind that charges were dropped without prejudice, so they can be reinstated without risking double jeopardy, or that the suspect remains in custody - just pretend that Obama is a friend to terrorists...

    Anyone moving

Jack: I said that 'trolling' for loads was often effective with Panther, in a van. I don't do it in the D unit, cause it doesn't work with my current carrier. As the saying goes, YMMV. :)
